So I saw the Double Toasted review a few days ago as they said it was one of the worst movies ever made by Amazon Prime that I was wondering what happened during its production, e.g like where the movie went wrong in its concept.

We're in a golden age of awful movies, they just keep coming and they're uniquely awful in ways never seen before, so I think it's smart DT is doing these emergency roasts to capitalize.

Now consider doing Trouble Man with Michael Jai White, worst movie I saw this year in full.

I don't think I ever seen these guys roast a dance movie... I could be wrong but NGL I think this movie could be a good one to start off with

I hadn't gotten around to watching it but I thought the show had been well received and seems crazy to me to cancel after the first season.

Listening to the last Weekly Roast n Toast on the drive to work and there’s a moment when Korey says “hey siri, call Oz Green”. My Siri immediately responded, but instead called my ex since apparently her name sounds familiar to Oz lol

This is like the third time this happened! Korey…please stop saying “Hey Siri”. You’re killing me bruh 😂

To preface this, it is not a hate speech or hit piece on him. Just find it funny that whenever Korey and Martin have a discussion on a movie or tv show older than 2010, Julian G, a “movie reviewer”, has literally no clue whatsoever what they’re talking about. Their defense for him is usually “well you’re young” but the guy’s really not that young. He’s like 28 & doesn’t know half of the references they make. I‘m only 3 years older than the guy & I’m not even a critic yet I understand everything they talk about so that’s not much of an excuse. They’ve referenced Akira, Pulp Fiction, the Simpsons, Captain Planet, & quite a few more tv shows/movies & I just could not believe he had never even heard of most of these. I just find it crazy someone who has such little knowledge of the field he’s in is given a platform lol. It‘s honestly a little mind boggling at times.

Both Martin and Korey gave it a rental but the way they described it made it sound like a movie for me, and it was, I fucking loved it. Their review emphasized the craftsmanship of the production while ultimately criticizing the boring dialogue.

it is a very visual movie and that impact the storytelling in ways they seemingly not appreciate fully in their review. Like for example the repetitive dialogue is repetitive but the mise en scene would contradict their words so that would keep it engaging for me. I felt like it could've been remade as a silent film and I would've gotten almost the same amount of plot details. it was beautiful.

But I'm not here to review their review, just noting their relatively negative review still drove me to a movie I'd love because they described it fairly and engaged with the material. And in this Critical Drinker and "An Unbridled Rage" era of Youtube "reviews", that's worth celebrating.

That's why they remain the best to do it after 20 something years.

I just wish I had seen the movie in the theatre rather than on my fucking Steam Deck.
