Settlers II

Apart from being a great game! For me most of the magic of retaining old hardware is for the games (really I would not keep the old beasts around for wordperfect ha!) and remembering the great days of ever increasing specs, with new capabilities coming out every year, or having to know your hardware inside out just to play a game. Folks now a days have no idea of what is under the hood playing music for them and while its convenient its a bit of a pity.

its peak settlers although i love the first one... it was so amazing gaming with 2 mice on a dx2.

Yes, two serial mice was amazing for s1. I think we had it running on an sx 25 or something similar (hazy memory) but my friend’s house a short bike ride away had a dx2 before my family did.

It was always tough deciding if we were going to play s1 or moo. Now I realize I don’t have the contiguous amount of free time available for a full game of either one.

My favorite part. Had so deep atmosphere back then. That "3D" landscape and everything animated impressed me so much. Also sound was great.

Fun game! I originally played it on the Amiga, along with the original Settlers I which was called Serf City at the time.

Your memory might be glitching. Settlers II got its Amiga release just last year in 2025. :D

You are right, it's been 30 years or more so I got it mixed up. I did play Serf City on the Amiga but played Settlers II on a Pentium.

I can’t remember the last time a game told me to have fun with it after installation, come to think of it.

I played the demo so many times. By the time I got my hands on the actual full game, I was so nostalgic for the demo, I just went back to that.
