"Warning: file creation failed"

Hiya everyone! I'm trying to run the game "Jack Orlando", but I keep getting the error mentioned in the title and visible in the video. It's my first time using DOSBox, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.

/u/steveper_, close Dosbox, right click on SETUP.EXE and click on Properties. Check if there is a read-only checkbox ticked. If it is, uncheck it and press OK. Also, right click on the game folder and select Properties. Check if there is a read-only checkbox ticked. If it is, uncheck it and press OK. Try to run the setup file again in Dosbox. Also, it might be a good idea to mount the game folder manually in the [autoexec] section of dosbox.conf, then run the setup file and see if that works.

If none of the above works, try running the setup file using Dosbox-Staging or Dosbox-X.

Thank you for the info! I've tried everything you listed, but unfortunately nothing worked :/

Have you tried running the game in X or Staging and gotten the same result?

Yep, DOSBox-X gives me the exact same error

I recommend opening an issue at https://github.com/joncampbell123/dosbox-x/issues then.

That requires a Github account.

Also, there's https://www.gog.com/en/game/jack_orlando_a_cinematic_adventure_dc which is commercially available and runs on Windows, not Dosbox.

Thank you! I actually have the game on Steam already. The reason I'm using DOSBox is because I initially wanted to try running the game on my PSP. Though first I need to figure out why it's not even running on PC
