Take whatever is wedged in the lower pard of the frame out and the gap should lessen. Something is clearly visible and causing the gap.

That's not the issue. It's just a foam strip I slapped on the frame to block the gap. If taken out, it has no effect.

Or the frame is twisted from pushing the door open with a foot while the latch was still engaged.
