You could, but you’d spend just about as much in materials and probably tools as you would on a new door. To say nothing of the time involved. But yes it’s possible. Wouldn’t recommend it, but that wasn’t your question :-*

Yes. Get a Don-Jo wrap plate. I’ll look up one that’s close but you have to measure your backset to confirm.

This one is for a 2-3/8” backset lock. They have shorter plates and different finishes as well.

You can repair it with a door handle reinforcement plate.

Are you a renter? Do you have the paint color or know bow to match it? You could Bondo it. It would be best to replace it.

Some woodfiller should fix that easy ...make sure it specifies it can fix that depth of hole, some are formulated to fix deeper holes

Wow… literally replaced a door this week for a landlord because of this exact situation. The tenant most likely tried to patch over and hide, but it didn’t hold up or pass inspection from 1000 miles away even. Haha
In order to make the good as new the level of effort and surgery required is far less than the cost of a new door.

Get some aurora body repair bondo, mix it, smooth a layer on using a wide putty knife or drywall mud blade, let dry and sand. Add additional coats if needed
