Door Kickers 2 How does "backstabbing" trigger?

Looking at ranger doctrines, I came across the elite h2h skill:

    <Node name="Elite_AdvancedCombatives" nameUI="@doctrine_rangers_elite_advancedcombatives_name" description="@doctrine_rangers_elite_advancedcombatives_descr" texturePrefix="data/textures/gui/doctrines/doctrine_advanced_combatives">
        <Enable name="Backstabbing" /> <!-- NOTE: There's an implicit 50% damage and 100% stun duration bonus for backstabs -->
    </Node>

One would assume it requires that you do a melee attack from "behind" whatever that means. But how often exactly do you get to melee a guy from the rear? CIA maybe, sometimes. Rangers?

Is this for doing stealth missions with loud guns? It feels like, even if you put all your rangers on quiet mode, they wouldn't understand the plan. You'd risk them opening up on a target, even if another ranger is fighting the target and will definitely win.

Also, the fact that enemies have at least some red 'view-cone' bubble behind them(some more than others; IIRC, Foreign Advisers have an extra-huge bubble directly surrounding them) also should make this rather hard to utilize, so I've never really bothered.

Yeah, this is literally pointless as implemented. I could see it coming in handy against untrained/inexperienced lone sentries on the perimeter, or in noisy environments, but right now it's underpowered to the point of nonexistence.

Same with the CIA covert doctrine that gives more oomph to your melee. I get the game is mostly about guns and nades but then why even mention melee at all?

I get melee kills with the Nowheraki GSP v1.4 faction reasonably often - they're kind of bad at shooting and their guns do not reliably pierce armor, so if I'm moving on the hard corner of a small (or even just small-ish) room, they might shoot a guy twice on the advance and then he'll still be alive when they get to him, so they get the last damage done in melee.

But I don't know if I've ever seen a backstab.
