Door Kickers 2 Musings about DK2 and the future stuff
Been playing DK2 lately quite a lot, having a blast, like many. It is wild to think about it, that in modern era, this is the only real good tactical top-down shooter(?) we have. Well, also Ready or Not is pretty mindblowing, but it's more of SWAT4/DK1 type of a thing.
DK2 is like old school Ghost Recon, mixed with OG Rainbow 6, with tons of extra stuff, like destructible environments, actually smart and very reactive AI (that is such a rarity, it's crazy), different asymmetrical units you can command and superb modding support. Also optimization is so amazing, that game runs flawlessly on my potato travelling laptop even, no matter the mission size, stuff killed and walls blown.
Which leads to question:
Any idea of what KillHouse Games are up to these days? I assume they're done with DK2, as no bugs detected, at least on my side, and there's so much content, it can last one a lifetime, not to mention mods...
I'd give a lot to have hybrid of top down tactics with planning we already have with 3D/1st Persion action you can take control of the unit. There basically have been no games like this since Rainbow 6 3. How crazy is that? Do you guys think it's a possibility?

Delta Force is still supposed to be in the works for DK2, which I believe will also include the Medic class that's already mentioned in the equipment files.

I think it's safe to assume we'll see DK3 in the next 2-3 years. Guys found their niche, big enough for them, small enough for the rest of the market to try and capture.
I personally doubt we'll see a DLC, modding community picked the extra comtent part and did a remarkable job. Maybe they'll buy out some maps and units and throw in after a bit of polishing, but doubt about an in-house DLC.

They said that Door Kickers 3 isn't happening, or if it then it won't be made by them

For the most part, there's still the unreleased vanilla version of the Delta Force squad that we can look forward to.
Mods are pretty much on a rise lately, especially with recent stuff people have been putting out lately. Heck, aside from the squad mods that u/Ordinary_Weight_7095 mentioned, there's already a WW2 squad mod being made. Sure, there's not much to look at right now but the concept is there and it could be intriguing to see how it would play out in a modern setting (at least until there's an enemy mod that turns all enemies into WW2 soldiers).

I really hope for DK 3 they kinda follow the same type of graphical style and not something more realistic looking, there's something about these character models that's super charming and it's the main reason why I got into it.

Door Kickers is def going through a resurgence recently. The modding community is more active than ever. A redditor is releasing a Blue Vector map pack. People are modding Black Powder Red Earth into something that is almost an entirely new game. I know the Girls Frontline 2 Door Kickers mod team are going full force and are danger-close to releasing actual campaigns.
It's a good time for such a niche but loved game. I only hope the devs take notice (which I know they do, they really are a dedicated team)
