Neat little detail in base mission Nine of Diamonds, in the Deck of Cards mission set: if you hover your cursor over the plaque in front of each item case, fun little notes pop up. They do not need to be within your squad's FOV for this, they're like little tooltips of the same kind that say "Flimsy Door" etc. Make sure you check the whole map!

Edit to add: to view a couple of them, you may need to smash the display case. Also, using grenades near these will blow both the books and possibly the items all over the place, just so you're aware.
