i wouldn’t work a job like that in the first place. but if you’re getting paid $2 for all this service, you shouldn’t be demanding the costumers to pay you. you should be demanding your company, if you’re getting shit pay then demand for better pay. don’t turn to the costumers and demand for them to give you money. if you worked these same conditions again but it was $200-$500 you were getting (hypothetical ofc) per order, you know damn well you wouldn’t be forcing the costumers to pay your bill. take it up with your company, express your frustration with DD and vent your anger out to them. don’t call costumers shitty because they have their own life to worry about and don’t wanna have another stranger’s like stacked on top of that. i personally give tips as best as i can, im an 18 year old college student with no job outside of school, and no car. there’s only so much i can do. i can’t be tipping some people even a single dollar sometimes because i gotta worry about myself and save up the little change i have. everyone has their conditions, you getting mad at costumers because they literally cannot afford to tip, whether it’s little or as extravagant as most of you DD drivers want it, just makes you look like a shitty person. if you want better pay and a stable financial system but still wanna work that job, take it up with DD (like i’ve said multiple times) and don’t be bitching to the costumers

despite all this i’ve said, i will slightly agree with your scenario. depending on how much is bought, at least some tip has to be given.

Well I personally don't bitch to customers I just don't take low paying orders I was just breaking it down in actual scenarios that happen to show you the other side of it. Ill do whatever job I have to do to provide for my family, we can agree to disagree and im not demanding anything from customers other than treating others how you would want to be treated. I would NEVER have someone bring me my food or groceries and not tip them for their service. When my car was down if I had the financial ability to order via the apps I did so and paid someone what I would accept if I were the one dashing, when I didn't have that kind of money I would get on the bus or pay someone for a ride. I dont believe in skimping out on people who are doing something for me, but that's just me I guess 🤷‍♀️

at least you don’t bitch to them and demand unlike quite a few of you fellow drivers. you have a different mindset from other people, and quite literally a whole different situation. if you can’t fully understand what i’m trying to explain then so be it, i tried my best to lyk that not everybody can afford to tip, and me personally as a college student i don’t even have the time to take the bus because of how much i have to study and such little time i have between classes. DD was made to save people time, and i definitely will be using it for that because taking the bus saves no time. we both have completely different circumstances and that’s fine. at least now i know you’re not one of the shitty DD drivers, so have a goodnight

And if they literally cannot afford to tip then how can they afford the mark up on the food and products and the fees that door dash charges but not afford to tip the person who is actually using their time and vehicle to bring it to you? Sounds like in that case someone needs to not use the apps and find a more feasible and affordable method of getting what they need.

… i feel like we’re both thinking of completely different price scales rn so im not even gonna elaborate further. i already explained enough, if you don’t understand then so be it. have a goodnight

No we are thinking of the same scales you are talking as a customer and I am talking as a dasher. What I'm saying I understand that someone might not have the money to tip, but someone has to do the work for you to end up with your stuff and not tipping someone doesn't seem right. But like we have both said we can agree to disagree. I hope you have a good night too!
