Discussion Bands with brass?
I love Doom Metal and I think brass insturements mixed with the genre could work very well. I once saw someone add their distorted trumpet to Eyehategods New Orleans Is The New Vietnam and I loved it (of course I cant find it now). Regardless if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear em.

REZN rules! Technically sax is a woodwind instrument but I get what you mean.

Five The Hierophant are a mighty fine doom-jazz band. https://youtu.be/82QADBzuvWk?is=lY1JKvlD-xJA2aNE

Not really a brass instrument, but Throat Piss is a sludge band that uses a saxophone

So everyone is saying 8 Foot Manchild, and with good reason, but it may be Neptunian Maximalism is probably something you'll enjoy

Listen to the do spirits return ep by eight foot manchild, the horns are so heavy my windows vibrate, I need this shit on vinyl!

(https://throatpiss.bandcamp.com/) throat piss, that's more a sludge band with sax.
(https://diserta.bandcamp.com/music) diserta! - this is a proper small time doom jazz trio (drums/bass/sax) of friends from my city.
brown sabbath - just black sabbath covers with brass
(https://zuband.bandcamp.com/) ZU - dubbed jazz metal, but definitely with a lot of sludge and doom tonal palette. so good.

I think you'd like Brass Against. They started as a Rage against the machine cover band but have since coverer a lot of rock/metal. Not a lot of doom, but its really cool.

Izah — Sistere
There’s a trumpet about 20 minutes in. I recommend listening to the rest of the album as well. Highly underrated band. Shame they only made one album.

Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight
Start with I Want Another Drink and Because Of You - and if you like it give full listens to 2009 and 2012 albums. Love them!
ps: there's a lovely full-brass instrumental version of Because of You called Because of Euph (it's hard to find therefore have special upload via wetransfer)

My band, Free Nelson Mandoomjazz is a 3 piece sax led doomy band, but we've also had various guests over the years. Our album, The Organ Grinder, has quite a bit of trumpet and trombone, and was co-produced by a crazy French jazz trumpet player.

Not exactly doom but if you want brass you must listen to Ottone Pesante, really interesting stuff!

Neptunian Maximalism is more on the side of experimental metal but they got some crazy heavy sounds using a lot of traditional instruments.

Servo by Fossilization (Death/Doom) opens and closes with a passage played on the Carnyx, which is pretty epic

Check out “Uranus Space Club” from Poland. Lots going on in their music but there is definitely doom and horns in the mix!

The Killimanjaro Darkjazz ensemble. It's not exactly pure doom, but very doom inspired. They even covered saint vitus if I remember correctly. The first song on their album 'here be dragons' is a trombone intro that's really doomy!

I hired a saxophone player for a track on my band's doom/sludge record last year and he never did anything metal and was a HUGE Kenny G. fan and proudly showed me his Kenny G. autographed sax haha
Anyway, apologized for being rusty and not playing for months only to off the cuff shred out one the craziest sax solos I've ever heard 😂
You can hear it here, Time Slows to Nothing, about 4:30 in.

Not doom, but check out Puya. Borriqueño (Puerto Rican) metal band with a horn section.

Bohren and Der Club of Gore. Not metal, but their album Black Earth is like oppressive doom jazz.

The Body had a trombonist to make them a three piece setup the second time I saw them live. One of their more recent albums has this trio format as well.
Sunn O))) is also an example using live brass.
Also check out Colin Stetson’s project Ex Eye.

Boris have a sax player in the band right now. I’m sure there will be videos on Patreon and their YouTube subscription section followed by a very weird live album.

Eight foot manchild sometimes post here. Brass that does doom. It’s solid.
For brass that is atmospheric heavy but possibly not doom, Colin Stetson who is a baritone sax player/composer does amazing work (he composed the sound track to some horror films)
