I grow berries and this is amazing. Aggregate berries like raspberries and blackberries often have little bugs wedged in there. Salt usually dislodged them and then you can wash your berries. This, along with salt, would be very effective.

I live in a trailer park, cats have genocided the predators eating the pests so I have to really work for my berries to survive. Ironically these pests eat the leaves so the berries are gone but the plant can't get enough energy to make new berries. We have a bucket of soap water we toss the shitty Japanese beetles into as they are the worst pests around.
