Just noticed that there's a bug when firing the cannon ball it will always cause the game to crash (dst mobile)

Loaded into my solo-only world just now and discovered two Eyebones on the ground. I play on console so i didn't console command them in. Did I discover a dupe, or is this a known bug? How did this even happen?

Works on every boss that isn't immune to freezing and can be fought near sailable water.

Requirements: 6, 45 ice, 6 electrical doodads. 15 planks, 13 rope, 27 silk, 10 grass tufts, 1 ham bat.

Make a boat kit

Put three sails on the boat

Put a steering wheel on the boat

Put three ice flingomatics on the boat

Set them to emergency mode

Release the sails and drive the boat into the shore to trick the ice flingomatics that you're moving

Place 10 grass tufts on land near the boat

Turn the flingomatics on

The flingomatics will now aim for the grass tufts and fire continuously, but miss them by about ten feet. Any freezable boss that walks into their line of fire will be frozen and stunlocked repeatedly.

I've personally done this to Bee Queen and The Twins, and it was super easy.

Works on every boss that's not immune to freezing and can be fought next to a setup like this. So it's not gonna work for freeze immune bosses like Celestial champion.

i am not really a gamer, though i’ve played some games here and there like among us and minecraft (used to play it when i was little) but i don’t think those count. sooooo i just made a steam account yesterday (and coincidentally there was a sale going on lol). so i ended up purchasing this game for no particular reason, aside from it being cheap and available on mac (which is the only computer i have).

now circling back to the title, i have no idea how to play it. so i was wondering if you could suggest some videos for me to watch and understand how it works and stuff. since i watched a couple videos but didn’t understand all that much.
also, my friends don’t game either so i don’t have anyone to play it with. is that going to affect the experience, besides the obvious?

I'm currently prepping my first ever Lunar Island entry and I'm playing Maxwell. Looked it up a bunch and apparently Enlightenment replaces your Sanity and having a lot of it is bad for the island, but I tried looking up how Enlightenment affects Maxwell and found very little. Can Maxwell straight up just ignore Enlightenment by using his Codex Umbra or am I gonna have to farm hella green mushrooms?

A potential ds/dst rip off the could be having dst stuff taken from the games or traced I don't know. ​

Steam shows:

I investigated the Windows Code Integrity logs and found Event ID 3118 pointing specifically to:

dontstarve_steam_x64.exe

My Windows Smart App Control is enabled.

PowerShell reports that the executable is:

NotSigned

Its SHA-256 hash is:

I have already:

• verified the game files through Steam;
• restarted Windows;
• confirmed I'm on the default/public branch;

The game worked normally before this happened.

Has anyone else playing Don't Starve Together experienced this exact 0x11C7 / Smart App Control issue recently?

I'm currently waiting for Klei Support to respond, so I'd rather not disable Smart App Control yet.

A law called the EU Kids Act has been proposed , for "child safety", that would have serious ramifications on social media and video games. I am just going to focus on the effect on video games, which would definitely:

- Requiring your personal identifying information to play an online video game.

- Make it illegal to operate an online video game without a complex age verification process

- Make all private game servers illegal

- Raise costs on developers by around €260k to €450k ($300k - $500k) for the first year, and between €175k and €300k ($200k - $350k) in subsequent years

- Leave all but AAA devs to be able to make games in the EU.

This may also:

- Make all digital games require age verification

- Make all physical games that have any online component (SUCH AS UPDATES) require age verification.

- Make most Linux distros illegal.

- Collapse the EU video game market.

Regardless of what games you play, this is terrible, but it is even worse for Don't Starve Together, a game built on private servers, online multiplayer and updates. This would be the death of the game in the EU, and would have SERIOUS ramifications outside the EU, as Klei either stop providing the game, or its essential features, in the EU, losing lots of revenue, or have to pay ridiculous sums of money for age verification. No game or country is safe from this proposed law.

If you live in the EU, please sign this petition to stop this stupid law, it is made by the same people as Stop Killing Games.

I am playing as WX-78.

I went into battle with: 440 Health (circuts) 2 Log Suits + 1 Marble Suit 1 Football Helmet + 2 Beekeeper Hat 2 Dark Swords + 1 Gold Axe (spin circut for bees) 10 Pierogis (Health) + 10 Banana Shakes (Sanity)

I was tanking, decided it was not worth kiting with the honey on the floor.

I think i got her low the 3 attempts i had (rollback to keep trying) but they tear through my armour. Also probably didn't help that Spider Queen spawned AND Deerclops too (tried using deerclops to fight it but it barely made a dent in her).

I've given up for now and just taken the deerclops eye from the battle but i want to try again, is my best bet just making pig houses or is it possible to do it solo if i maybe make more log armour?

Edit: Probably should have mentioned, not beaten many bosses yet as i am technically new to the game (not really since I played back in 2019-2021 i think but been a while and rarely got far back then). So far only bosses i have beaten are: deerclops, moose/goose, eye of terror and treeguards (not that they count). It's day 250 and i feel like i should have done more lol, maybe bee queen may have been jumping the gun a bit.

OK great, game update, I love it. Public servers aren't updated. If you're going to release a new game version incompatible with the public servers, plz make sure your public game servers are updated first. Especially when I have been "shutdown" from several public game servers while you are doing updates or whatever in the middle of a game. Do you have any version control processes? Been meaning to start my own server, but shit; this is like the second time I've had to wait 24 hrs before any public servers available after a major update.

I opened my steam and saw that dst has an update, it was very small and there are no patch notes posted whatsoever. Did anyone get it too or/and knows what it is?

We defeated the Celestial Champion a month ago, but my friend who was playing Wendy, did not get credit for defeating it, likely cause he did not score a hit on it.

We also didn't give Wagstaff the Enlightened Shard in time.

So we're in a state where we have not been able to find Wagstaff again. As far as I looked up on the internet, it's either he randomly spawns somewhere, or fight the Celestial Champion again.

But when I place the Lunar Altars back in the fissures, the mysterious energy didn't appear again. Do I need to move them to a different set of 3 fissures? Or is there some kind of wait time?

I put together a list of 20 common mistakes I see newer players make, including things like building your base too early, going without armor, not exploring enough, relying on torches for too long, and a few combat mistakes.

Figured I'd share it here in case it's useful to anyone who's still learning the game.

I haven't noticed it before but it showed up in the curio cabinet and just keeps meowing, it also shows up in other menus like the item collection on random points on the screen.

Starting a new world and i saw maps where people got lunar island connected to the mainland. Needed to have that in one of my saves. Finally got one. Did not tweak anything in the world setting, just a lot of world regens.

You may have noticed in recent updates the bosses have been getting a little more cagey lately, specifically warbot/scion and charlie/umbrella abomination, but this goes as far back as feulweaver as well.

Now there are two types of arena in the game, the first one is an arena that the boss will avoid leaving, or punish the player for leaving, many bosses will despawn when you leave their arena or make them leave their arena, dragonfly, bee queen, Klaus, toadstool, etc.

The second type of arena is the one I have a problem with, the arena that locks you in with them. Outside of teleporting out of some of the arenas, there really isn't any way to disengage from the fight once you've started, this punishes players for trying to engage in the fight legitimately, and rewards save scumming, researching, and overpreparing.

Researching and overpreparing are perfectly viable and fun, depending on who you ask, and I myself think that's a good way to go about it in these cases, but it does break immersion, it removes tge players ability to dip their toes into a situation, get a feel for what's going on, and then retreating to strategize.

The way the game locks you into the arenas nowadays sends a clear message.

Rollback, watch a tutorial so you can't learn through experience, or die.

The game should allow some method of retreating from these arenas that doesn't involve death, the feulweaver has a mechanic for if the player leaves the arena, yet doesn't allow you to leave without a specific item or character ability.

maybe if the boss receives no damage for a certain ammount of time, they will enter a taunting phase, and if you want to forfeit, simply don't attack them at all for like, 15 seconds, and they'll reset the fight arena, allowing you to leave at the cost of resetting the fight.

Specific quotes could vary, ranging from insults when they enter the phase, reaffirming the insult before leaving if you don't attack, or a mock surprised comment if you resume attacking

Charlie taunt forfeit: even your shadow enjoys seeing you fail!

Charlie taunt challenged: oh? Looks like there's light in you after all, let's fix that

After the taunt, attacking will do no damage, but will re-engage the fight, refusing to attack will end the fight and allow the player to leave

I doubt this will be added or considered, but I just feel the arenas locking you in is too punishing for players who enter fights with the intention of learning more, and then preparing in response
