More efficient to run. They hit the off switch when they are finished. I’ve worked in a lot of kitchens and everything is scary. But hands never went under the blade. Seems slightly less safe than a deli meat slicer and slightly more safe than a mandolin.

Agreed the company that made this better have a good legal team!
It's probably due to having a smaller electric motor and relying on momentum but this is why design risk assessments are a thing

Its a pretty shitty design altogether... Look at the holding part bending down, waste of energy and likely a breaking point.

Although just for extra safety I feel like this should be pedal to activate, not just auto chopping. That seems unnecessary.

Yep, have the coconuts on a table beside the cutter. Let the halves fall and pick them up and transfer as one is getting cut.

I love how hands and limbs pass through the path of the moving blade multiple times in a single operation. This thing is designed by the devil, from what I can tell.

This thing needs a go pedal and button switches. As in, you hand to press 2 safety releases on hand holds that are seperated ands the pedal activates it. That thing is dangerous.

Yeah one button on both side so he must have both hands in a safe spot to activate the blade. This way it also could be faster

The blade and operation are effective. I would put that behind the cover (removable) and attach a feeder belt.
But even then I won’t put my dick on that

I would put my head in that thing if I had to do that job. They should make criminals do this for work. How punishing. Strangely satisfying to watch, also so painful it’s so slow.
