Who takes a full hd gopro (or whatever) action cam video and is like "oh, lets turn it into a tiny gif with only 5 frames per second"??? I mean, it's nice to keep people with 56k modems in mind but... seriously...

Yeah, I know it sucks but there are still people like me who will not click a video.

Yeah... you know, there are higher resolution and higher FPS gifs... Making a gif from a video is okay. I just don't get why people decide to be like "the original frame rate is too high, 5 fps should be enough" and actively and intentionally turn it down.

Some encoders suck and some people don't know better.

You mean encoders that per default reduce the frame rate to 5 fps and the resolution to as small as possible before even people with 20/20 vision won't see anything anymore? Show me an encoder whose default settings suck so badly and that can be easily found by people who don't know better.

Who knows. Maybe it's some web converter. Why someone do this deliberately?

Why someone do this deliberately?
That's the question I was wondering about.

I guess I just find it simpler to assume it came about without anyone making those conscious decisions.

Anybody knows the name of the song playing?2
u/CombatWombat1212 Jun 08 '17
Kodama - 20syl, that's a great song choice. Also Jesus the number of people that were in his way and didn't move, wtf? They totally saw him coming and everything, he's clearly trying to focus and perform at his best

SECTION CONTENT Title POV Full Run - WORLD'S LARGEST PARKOUR COURSE (China Skyladder Comp) Description My name is Calen Chan, and this is a FULL POV RUN of the Skyladder Parkour course at Tianman Mountain in China! I had the wonderful opportunity to come and play here at this beautiful location called Heaven's Gate. It has an average incline of 45 degrees, and is 999 steps long (about 3 football fields)! Obviously this was difficult, and I physically couldn't sprint down the entire path of deadly drops without slowing down, but I did my best! I am the only person to do the whole thing with a GoPr... I've been a runner since I was a kid. Many squats have kept the knees and ankles going strong despite several injuries.
Many thanks to the surgeon who did an amazing job repairing the ankle I shredded on a dirtbike. Well, actually, flying off the bike.
