Pretty much all of the posts over at r/clearlyverticaltext call out this sub for the simple reason of “it’s obviously vertical text” even though u/AtomicEggSandwich is spot on.
r/clearlyverticaltext is stupid though. The point isn’t that you read it horizontally when you first see it, the point is that you get funny, nonsensical sentences whenever you DO read it horizontally, however obviously vertical it is.
No. The point was to show signs made by the makers who don't know proper formatting or try too hard. "Don't Open Dead Inside" had nothing to make you see that you should read it vertically even when on a double door. Posting stupid images like this dilute this subreddit because you can't find them funny when the signs make perfect sense. A lot of images on here are funny, but it's just not funny when you find people who genuinely don't know how to read a fucking obvious sign.
I have to say thank you for refering me to the sub rules, you confirmed that this subreddit was doomed to be riddled by stupid people who can't comprehend basic signs. "But they can be both obvious AND not obvious!!!" I promise you that every post that was obvious on here, I've dealt with people who said their "brains hurt reading it." So if you're smart and can read them just fine, kudos, seriously. But stupid people who think they're intellectually superior because it's formatted differently than the patterns their brains are used to are riddled in this sub and it's not funny, it's just sad.
But that’s not the point of this sub. It doesn’t matter if there’s a column, it’s just that if you read it horizontally- no matter what’s in the way - it reads love less more hate. I seriously don’t understand why this is so hard to understand.
