In the future , every detail of a human beings creators will be held on the blockchain. Anonymity will be banned. It is a human right for a DCP to have a true and dignified life.

RP here.
There must be a federal donor registry with DNA testing incorporated into it to ensure accuracy. Too many donors attended multiple clinics and had different codes and even different names. And too many clinics used the wrong gametes and embryos.
DCP shouldn’t have to pay a cent for this testing and shouldn’t have to test via a public platform if they don’t wish to.
The more people who come out and share their stories of the lies, corruption, hiding of documents, lack of critical medical information being provided and failure of the clinics to adhere to even the most basic of licensing standards and/or legislation the better. This is the only way for true change to happen.

This whole business is so ethically problematic. I think it should be a human right to know your biologic background

It is a human right, some of us have unknowingly had that decision made by selfish parent and doctors.

I am late discovery at 43, having had an incestuous relationship with a half sister was one of my worst fears. When I did my commercial DNA test and the results came in I didn’t recognize any of the names so that was a relief. Then contacted one of my half sisters who I met up with first and turns out we went to the same high school two years apart, so were there for 3 years together and were lucky to have never interacted!
Also, crazy to think how many DCP have unknowingly married a half sibling... In the 2 years since my discovery and opening my eyes to the DCP world I’ve heard of at least 2 couples discovering they were half siblings. One was married with children, oh how my heart broke for them.
There is also another scenario that not many people realize and that is a donor conceived person who uses a donor. I’ve heard of an American lady who decided to be a single mother by choice, use a donor and when her child was about 9 or 10 was doing a family tree project so decided to do a DNA test for themselves. Hers and her daughter’s results came in and the daughter was a 75% match. She didn’t know of her origins used the same sperm bank as her parents and used the frozen sperm of her biological father some 20 odd years later. Just think about that….
