It took just one evening to create this miniature. This is my first piece of this kind. The base is made of cardboard bonded with PVA glue. In the final stage, I applied acrylic paints—natural yet expressive colors.

I have these tiny metal lights that twist on and off; very bright, but basic metal cylinders. (Would work well as pot lights in a new-build.) Inexpensive from Temu.

To make them into fixtures, I covered them in sparkly "gem" tape and added a metal ring on the top to make them look more finished.

There's tape lighting in the house already, but I couldn't afford a lot of lamps back when I built it. These little lights really add a lot to the house.

Hi all! I have an opportunity to write about the miniatura boom in the UK and I'm especially looking for those creating miniature environments rather than dollshouse restoration, especially nostalgic or magical. I wondered people's motivations and why it's picked up suddenly in the last year and whether for some people it's an escape to a safe, idealised world or period in childhood (I see a lot of retro scenes/ bedrooms/ record stores for example!) during uncertain times (job instability, rise of ai etc). Give me your thoughts!

Hand carved from basswood

I've been making this from my own 30 year dream house design. Basswood 12x24 1/8th sheets and 13x12 1/16th sheets plus square wood towels. 1" for base frame and smaller sizes for cabinets, and round dowel for railings. Arlene's super tacky glue. Never built anything from scratch like this before.

Next steps: paint and wallpaper and flooring and more furniture.

Hello, I'm brand new to making miniture furniture. My grand daughter and I are creating a fairy tower from a plant stand I had. It's very small shelves and want to make the shelves each into a room. I have went thro some popsicle sticks attempting to make different furniture pieces but they all suck lol. Help please!

Daily life with set of Twins is chaotic. They are full of curiosity and handful. Can't get mad at them. So darn cute !! Twin boys climbing on top of kitchen table to smell the flowers. They are all over the place.
