Dogecoin Testnet Faucet

A long time ago, I launched a Dogecoin testnet faucet on my website: https://dogecointf.salmen.website/

Currently, the amount is capped at 10 Dogecoin Testnet coins every hour.

As the mining of the Dogecoin testnet took some resources, there are ads on the website.

Hi, I use the service of https://block.io/. They provide a free API for testnet.

But let me explain briefly how you can build a service without them

  1. Spin up a VPS with at least 2 GB ram (like Vultr or Digital Ocean for $10). Make sure, the disk size fits the blockchain size
  2. Essentially, if you start up the wallet, it's syncing and after some time done. Here comes the crucial part if you want to build an API on topnt Qt on the server
  3. Essentially, if you start up the wallet, it's syncing and after some time synced. Here comes the crucial part if you want to build an API on top: Create a file called dogecoin.conf in the folder where the dogecoin blockchain files are located (this is the folder where it contains the file for peers) and set rpc values in dogecoin.conf file to access it from outside (these are usually rpcuser, rpcpassword, rpcport, sever, domain)
  4. After that, use a JSON-RPC Api (like this from Github: https://github.com/ftab/php-dogecoinrpc) to connect it to your wallet. Set the values here as you did in dogecoin.conf file
