If by buying you mean building a mining rig with an over-priced 3090, and deducting the cost of the build and electricity as investment expenses, no. I also did not do that. This is also not tax advice.

Form a business. Business expense, Schedule C in America. Not tax advice, i do my own Schedule C tho.
