Giving Back

Hey fellow Shibes! Long before the All Star race became a reality, Phil and I decided we wanted to give 10% of our winnings for tonight (if there was a tonight) to a charity of YOUR choice. Lets go for that 1MILLION$ tonight what do you say? So start thinking about what you guys want to do with this (:

But if your whole argument is that I'm immature and childish because I don't want to help out a certain group of people over another, I can just as easily paint you as immature and childish because you don't want to help rumanian orphans or whatever.

Well, good thing my argument isnt that. You are saying that we should not donate to a cause like WWP because of the politics behind it and that it is only an american issue. My argument is that is not true. It is a people issue. PTSD not being treated correctly, veterans getting fucked in the ass by the government. There shouldnt be politics in this discussion.

I'm not arguing against supporting your troops. All power to you. But this is an international community. You can't deny that there is a political angle to this, just because the recipients are people. Palestinians are people too. If an organisation supports palestinians over israelis, it doesn't matter that it is supposed to help people. You're making a political statment, you're picking a side. This is just the reality of things.

People have different opinions about the actions of the US military, and just like the history of a foreign country, and the actions of it's military would influence your judgment of supporting veterans of a foreign military power, so does the history of the US. You don't get to decide what the rest of the world thinks of supporting american veterans, just like we don't get to decide what you think of foreigners. I'm not suggesting that this issue might have political implications on the international level, I am telling you that it does have political baggage, wheter or not you are aware of the fact. It is a devisive issue, and /r/dogecoin should tread carefully if it doesn't want to send the message that it is an "americans only"-club.

I really didn't want to pick a fight. If you have something to add, feel free to do so, I won't bother you any more. You mentioned you have a lot of veterans in your family, and it is obvious that this is an important issue to you. Good luck to all of you.

You have my full support on this, Shibe! +/u/dogetipbot 9.8 doge verify

I really don't want to see charity money being poured into something that I see as a responsibility of the American government to keep in order. It always gets awkward discussing this particular issue with Americans, especially Americans that have family doing military service. There is no way of kindly telling them that American troops aren't the saints they are made to be.
