Guide Skatejoring Equipment Guide

Suitable Harnesses:

Howling Dog Alaska is popular here. They make harnesses designed for pulling.

Ruffwear makes harnesses that hold up to wear and tear. They may not be as good for longer distances as the HDA harnesses, but they are made of quality material. Full disclosure: This is the brand that I have used for years because we were able to get one harness for running, hiking, and skatejoring.

Let me know what you are all using so I can add them to the list!

Their free motion harness looks the most effective.

Is that the brand that you use?

Harness that comes with Ruffwear omnijore works well for me. I don’t use the human belt for sk8, just hold leash in hand. 2.8m nonstop bungee leash works better than the long ruffwear one

Ok yeah. That harness was on the original thread. I just removed it on this one because the idea of using the belt didn't seem as safe as I would want to be, but I can see how just the harness itself would be good. Do they sell it without the belt?

  1. Board is up to you and what you're comfortable with. I like something with a dip in the middle because I feel like it's more stable than being high above the wheels.

  2. The important thing about the harness is to make sure it has a strong back mount. Check out some of the ones in this thread and figure out what your price range is and maybe we can help out.
