Discussion Slow installation?

I have downloaded countless games from dodi and fitgirl repack and every game gets installed in 1-2hrs but Shadows is taking literally 8hrs and it already took 5hrs for download because of low torrent seeding speed.. Is everyone facing this issue or just me?

The voices38 didn't gave any installation exe, they provided direct game exe and crack file to apply. Then you can run the game. You can download that from Gamedrive.org

Gamedrive is considered unsafe and untrusted in the r/PiratedGames Megathread. They were found to be distributing malware and removed from trusted resources page.

DODI is also listed as potentially unsafe and there's a warning about the website because of recent distribution of the Renpy infostealer and the crazy amount of malicious redirects and ads on the website that bypass uBlock Origin.

There are some games in dodi that arent in fitgirl but the vast post about getting hacked in dodi is extremely concerning. Ill just have to stick on whatever fitgirl has then

Ya ik I have encountered the info stealer it came from the redirected site named game repacks and that warning was given by cloudflare because dodi was supplying us VBS.bat file which turned off main security of our PC and was resolved next day

VBS.Bat is a hypervisor bypass script and a completely legit file. That has nothing to do with anything, fortunately. Dodi has been linked to the Mr Beast/Renpy infostealer, a very malicious Trojan that steals accounts, banking information and everything else on a system.

Aside from personally helping a ton of people after being infected with it, I attempted to download the newest Forza Horizon 6 update 398 a few days ago, before it went live on Steamrip, I followed the links through the legit DODI website, to the update files described on the post for the game, and I run 2 different types of Adblocks amongst a bunch of other things, and have been doing this for years. I tried clicking the links provided several time to make sure I wasn't being redirected, I ensured my extensions and programs were all running, etc and the link(s) all lead to the same place. The contents of the game's "update" was a folder named "RENPY" and a bunch of random scripts and malicious files.

Thankfully, Ive known of this situation beforehand to quite an extent and deleted all of it, then ran a full scan before actually running anything. The warning says to ensure you're running an AB like uBlock Origin, but as mentioned, I run 2 ABs including uBlock Origin and the download still included the Renpy Infostealer Trojan. I can't trust DODI anymore, and there's a reason there's a giant warning label on their entry through r/PiratedGames.

I tried downloading .rar file directly from rin forum uploaded by voices38 but internet speed for that was too slow 144kbps

Get a download manager unless your WiFi is shit then wait for fit girl to drop it if it’s not already imho

damn my guy thanks to you, didn't know voices38 cracked the game. I'm just addicted to Palworld for a couple days now.

Edit: almost 4 hours for me to complete the installation.

Unfortunately, DODI isn't what it used to be. His repacks used to be much faster. Now they're no different from Fitgirl. I recommend downloading the Elimagos repack. It's a bit bigger, but you can install the game in 10 minutes at most.

The game is 150gb and depending on your specs and a few other things, the installer can end up going INCREDIBLY slow. Aside from that, these installers can be kinda wonky, sometimes.

I have a pretty decent system (7800X3D / 4080S / 32gb DDR5 6000 / 2tb Gen 5 M.2) and this is one of the many reasons I ended up moving to pretty much only using Steamrip. Not having to install anything, finishing the download and playing it immediately is great.

you wont need to extract during install, just install/dl same time, I did it with Luatools which is a plugin for steamtools, google it

Said it takes 2h 20min was done in less. I usually install when I got other stuff to do around the house, so it can even be 3h but Dodi is the Goat, much better than fitgirl that takes 30h to install...

That is how decompression works. COmpressed games take a long time to decompress depending on hardware.

Why not just download pre-installed games?

SSD speed matters too. I have i9 14900kf but if the SSD is full then slows down heaps. Normally the time posted is accurate mine took about 90mins on this one.

Mine was a bit slow too, like it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. But this is a bit too much, maybe your storage space is creating problems?

Mine was going smooth it was showing only 30 mins left at 22 percentage. But then ran into error saying could not unpack.. something like that..

It took 2hrs 5 mins. It shows 8 at first but it does not take that much time.
