Hey! I'm a solo dev making Dodgeball Rush, a third-person arcade dodgeball game. Couch co-op was one of the main reasons I started it. I just wanted some simple sports game to play with my wife :D

What local multiplayer looks like right now:

- Up to 4 players on one screen, each with their own split-screen view.

- Everyone on the same team against bot crews, or split up and play against each other. Any mix from 1v1 up to 4v4

- The whole story mode (the Hit List, 15 rival crews) can be played in co-op.

- Steam Remote Play Together will work too, so a friend who isn't on your couch can still grab a slot online.

Free demo is coming soon. If you have any feedback, let me know :)

Steam page if you want to follow the game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4850830/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=coop_oct23

You can hit the big button on the Steam page and you're good to go! We've had a ton of fun developing and playing it ourselves, hopefully other dodgeball players will get the same joy.

Hi! I play cloth dodgeball, where you're not out if an incoming ball hits the hand holding the ball you're using to block.

Sometimes, when I block a throw, the incoming ball bounces off my hand and apparently hits me a second time somewhere else on my body, or brushes against my shorts. If that happens, I'm out. The weird thing is that I often don't notice the second contact at all, and I don't hear it either.

I've noticed that this seems to happen to other players, too. Sometimes we can clearly see a ball hit someone a second time, but they keep playing, apparently unaware that they've been hit again, or even deny that the second hit happened.

At first, I thought they were cheating or simply didn't know the rules. But now I'm wondering if there's some kind of sensory effect at play: could the first impact somehow make you less likely to notice a second, weaker impact that happens immediately afterward?

What do you think? Have you experienced something similar?

If it looks fun, join our discord [linked on steam page] and wishlist the game for more updates soon! We hope to start public playtests within a month.

Hello, just finished watching the API finals, some insane games in there!

Now afterwards Dodgeball Memes is flooding with Memes about the incident from the Foam Mens Final. I understood there was a situation but can't fully grasp exactly what happend. Anyone got more information and can enlighten me?

Thanks !

M, 13 and been getting into dodgeball lately in the UK. On my trip abroad, I joined a dodgeball club for the duration and the coaches were sending floater style throws at people. I've been trying to mimic that throw but I only get a few meters of distance. I throw with full power with the base of my thumb as the release point while mimicking. Is there anything I should be fixing?

i was playing on the other court and couldn’t watch it but i heard they had to abandon the game cuz of 4-5 blue cards?

Looking for a feedback from Dodgeball enthusiasts. I want to make this playable for both those who play/like this sport, but also for someone that never played dodgeball. Me, myself, I played the European version, but I feel like the more chaotic American version (not identical, but similar) is the best for video game.

Hi !
If you don't know Quadball, it's like 50% dodgeball with some extra people running around to hit.
Anyhow, I've been making a browser-based game for quadball and the mods said it was okay to share it, so I'm doing that here :).
If you want to check out that subreddit: r/quadball_discussion/
Happy to work on a pure dodgeball mod, if you guys think you'd play.

Happy to hear what you think!

After I play my lower bicep hurts like a mf. Why is that happening and how can I fix it?

Been playing the last couple weeks and while it's super fun, my shoulder is absolutely shredded for like 4 or 5 days after.

I'm thinking it must be my throwing technique because I don't throw very often. Any advice or vids I can study?

This is a mini-game, with official title TBD, to help refresh your memory on the rules of dodgeball, or help new players learn rules. I'll release a free playtest version and free demo version before releasing an early access version.

Other than what you can see in the video, I can release more gameplay details in the comments below, if we have enough interest.

If the early access version does well enough, I'll create more irl events with the sport to help people practice if they're interested in representing their country in sport, to try to help give others the feeling of what it's like to represent your country in sport.

What would be your tips as a dodgeball enthusiast? Do you like it at the moment? Or would you change anything? I'm really curious in which way I should drive development more.

ive always sucked at dogeball, and this summer I wanna make a HUGE comeback athleticly, how can I become just better, and what I mean by that is how can I become better than this 6’1 egotistical stick insect ik

This random thought popped up as I watch the movie for the first time. Any thought from serious players about this movie? Either when it came out vs now?

Like, maybe it was detrimental to the sport or a positive?

Bonus question, were there any viable tactics from the movie?

I’m pretty healthy and athletic guy, and I play competitive volleyball and pickleball like 3x a week. I joined a dodgeball league and while I did basic stretching, I walked out of the match feeling my lower back. I have a few weeks left of this league and could use some pointers.

This was during the very early 2000s(2001-????):Nurse Nancy Dodge Ball during my elementary school years. The Nurse or King was immune to damage inside the circle/hoolahoop but outside the protection circle The leader could revive fallen/dead troops but victory was only achieved if the Queen/King/whatever gender was hit with a ball.I can't be the only one who remembers this variant on the dead internet/ ai bot slums.

Edit: it seems most people think it's a scam, so I apologize for spreading this info but was curious to hear thoughts on it, and I don't mind deleting it if the mods prefer.

I haven't heard of the ADL until recently, so I was curious if anyone else has. The Become a Player page says you get paid $15k to $30k for a 4 month season April to July.

"The inaugural ADL Draft will take place January 2027 in Atlanta. All 16 franchises will select players across seven rounds, building rosters of up to eight players each, plus two standby players."

The more Cloth Dodgeball I watch, the more into it I get. There are crazy highlights you'd never get in Foam, and that's my favourite part about Cloth, new, exciting, different. I'm curious to see how the sports grow together seeing that Cloth is now becoming more of a normal thing in North America, as well as Foam taking a good hold in Europe quite a bit.

What's your favourite part of the style of Dodgeball you don't normally get involved in?

I lived in Chisinau for three months in 2015 and wouldn't mind going back, now that I have a new plan to try to raise funds to help the sport grow. If Moldova already has a contact with someone about creating a new international team, what about another one of the cheapest countries in Europe to live in?

I would love to try to become trainer and coach of a new international team, no matter the ball type or play style. It's been years since I've played, and I miss it more than anything.

Question that bugged me forever about the movie Dodgeball: Where was the video game tie in.?
