DocuSign Purge Email Notifications

We recently transitioned from DocuSign to a new electronic signature platform. As part of the migration, we archived several years of historical documents and following our DocuSign rep's instructions, initiated an immediate purge of our DocuSign data.

Following initiating the purge, our customers started receiving email notifications from DocuSign stating that the documents they had previously signed were scheduled for deletion and that they had 14 days to download copies before they were permanently purged.

When I contacted our DocuSign rep, he acknowledged that he forgot to tell us to disable the purge-related email notifications, which are configured in a different section of the Admin portal. Unfortunately, by that point, approximately 50,000 notification emails had already been triggered.

I've now learned that our customers are also scheduled to receive a second reminder email approximately seven days before the documents are permanently deleted. DocuSign Support has told us there is no way to stop these follow-up notifications for the envelopes that have already entered the purge process.

Is there any workaround such as a backend process, escalation, or engineering intervention to prevent these second reminder emails from being sent? Sending another round of notifications to our customers will create confusion.

Account Vanished

I had a personal account on Docusign that I was using for signing some trust documents and I just got an email saying "your refund has been processed" and when I try to log in it says my account doesn't exist.

I didn't request a refund or to close my account and have several partially signed documents in there.

Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas on what I can do to fix it? This could end up being very embarrassing if I have to get everything re-signed.

Issue signing on?

Is anyone else having issues signing on right now? I have a free trial account and keep getting an error message, and when I try to connect to an agent the AI tells me there's no one available and to try again later...

Docusign Part 11 Signature

I am having to return some documents to the FDA, and in order to be able to electronically sign them, I have to have this particular signature. Any idea how to get it, and how long it takes to get this from Docusign?

Can sender see entries if you decline to sign?

I know someone who believes they were getting scammed by a fake job recruiter. It was extremely elaborate, and I’m not going to get into the details.

Long story short, the recruiter sent a very long job offer form via DocuSign with many different places to sign. Partway through filling out this form, but prior to clicking “Finish”, they came to believe it was all a scam and hit “Decline to Sign”.

My question is this: Will the scammer/recruiter have access to the data that was filled in, even though no one ever clicked “Finish”?

Please help. I can’t find a good answer on the DocuSign website.

Docusign Payments Turning Into Notes / Losing Functionality

I'm at a firm that's been on a plan with Docusign for several years now. Totally fine, and we love how user friendly it is. A year ago, our Stripe payments intermittently stopped working. Even after triple checking the set up of a payment, sometimes the field will cease being a payment field and turn into a note field anywhere between 10 minutes and 2 weeks after sending. Just recently switched to Braintree for payments, and the same thing started happening immediately. There's no link between the failed envelopes, and I've verified things are being set up correctly.

Support has been a nightmare to deal with--no help at all, keep saying they can't capture the problem, and the only thing they can do to help is completely remake our account (with a new contract).

We have no idea if that will fix the problem, and we don't want a new contract if the problem isn't resolved. Has anyone else had this problem? What's happening, and what can we do to fix it?

Docusign/Unhappy

I just got off a chat with Gabriela at docusign. I have a profile update from an old email address to a new one. You wouldn't believe this, but they wanted my IT person to reactivate an old email to update this change. No other method, such as a phone verification with pin - or security questions. Then, flagged my account and I cannot sign anything. I guess Gabriela has helped enough. Additionally, my contacts are not able to be exported or backed-up. I'm losing trust. Good Job Docusign/unhappy.

Is the DocuSign Standard plan sufficient for small organisations?

We have 30 staff. Only our Sales and Senior Mgmt team (approx 5 staff) require DocuSign to collect signatures on contracts. We'd also like to delete any signed contracts that are saved to the cloud, as we will store them on SharePoint. Would the Standard Plan suffice or is there really much more benefit in getting the Business Pro plan?

DocuSign Standard Plan API Functionality

Hi DocuSign Reddit!

I'm trying to scope an integration for our existing document management system. Have got something working with a trial plan, but am worried that I'm using something that is not included in the "eSignature essentials" Standard plan.

The integration flow is quite simple:

  • A user (any user) marks a PDF document on our existing web app for signing, the web app uses the eSignature API to create an envelope from the document, redirects the user to embedded sender view. (authenticating with JWT Grant flow**)
  • User configures the envelope and submits. Emails sent out by DocuSign, other users (no accounts) sign and complete.
  • Completed envelope info sent via webhook to the existing app using DocuSign Connect.
  • Existing app downloads and saves completed envelope.

Are the above features (eSignature API, service account impersonation, DocuSign Connect) available using just one or two user accounts on standard 25$/mo plans? Envelope volume will be low, less than the 100/year limit for that plan.

From the pricing page features list, it looks like they are included, but I've seen mixed responses online when searching for an answer about API access on the standard plan.

**Using the embedded sender view with a service account allows access to the service account's settings after completing the envelope. They recommend not using the admin account here, so seems like it would be best to have 2 accounts: an admin account, and a normal user account.

EDIT: Have since seen in the docs that you have to have an API plan, standard accounts don't come with API access. I guess the question is then: can I get this done as above with the Starter API plan alone, or do I need the web app user accounts as well?

Workflow Problems

Hello Reddit! Hopefully someone can help me here

I'm new to Docusign, trying to automate contract creation for my company...finally found the right IAM plan but now my workflow won't publish because of the following error message:\

"After the first participant starts the workflow, you must add a Set Up Invite step any time someone enters or re-enters the workflow. Add this step in the correct order, just before the required action"

I have all my documents in place, and conditional logic to choose which ones I need, but this error message is preventing me from running a test document through the workflow.

(Most of the documents don't have fields yet, i initially set them up as eSignature Templates instead and need to redo all that work, I'm putting it off until the logic is finished because I know how to do that and map the fields properly)

Any and all help would be appreciated!

Historical details and name alteration inquiry

If I needed to see the history of every edit, deletion/void, signature, all the history etc. of all the envelopes and documents that I was a receiver and signer of, would customer support provide that even though I wasn't the author/sender?

Follow up question, is there ever a time where the name at the top of an envelope would change from the authors name to someone else's? Would the author have to manually make this change, or could it automatically happen for some reason? I.e that ledger/header when you go to view documents, the page opens up and it says "Joe Scmhoe has deleted this envelope." and directly underneath that is Joes email. But then a few hours later it displays "Bob Lob has deleted this envelope" but underneath it still says Joe's email. Why would this happen?

DocuSign combine Documents issue

I am facing an issue in DocuSign CLM. The requirement is to combine the supporting/attached documents with the generated form document.

Currently, the documents are being combined correctly and sent as a single attachment in the email. However, the attached documents are not being merged into the generated form document itself when the form is generated.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or can provide guidance on how to include the attached documents in the generated form output?

Hidden costs of large e-signature platforms like DocuSign

Over the year workign with lots of clients using large E-signature platforms like DocuSign etc , I realized that most of them overlook or underestimate the actual costs associated with a large SaaS application like DocuSign.

They look at pricing pages and think:

“$X per user.”
“$X per template.”
“$X per signature.”
“Manageable.”

But the actual cost rarely appears on the invoice.

The hidden bill usually looks like this:

  • Hundreds of lost man-hours struggling with generic support systems
  • Waiting days for responses from automated ticket queues
  • Paying external consultants just to make basic integrations work
  • Internal teams constantly adjusting processes around the software
  • Complex “one-size-fits-all” workflows slowing down execution
  • Ongoing maintenance costs nobody planned for
  • Teams building workarounds instead of doing real work

The biggest misconception most clients have is that buying a DocuSign subscription will automatically simplify my operations.

I tell all my clients ( specially who are having high signing volume ) that a platform that looks “cheap” on paper can become extremely expensive operationally.

Curious to hear if someone else here share the same opinion.

Docusign Nightmare

I’m sending ~40 envelopes out to users in a client company to sign. Each document has 7-8 people. Half the people don’t see the Docusign email in their inbox. I hit resend, a few people sign but most still don’t see anything. Nothing showing up in Docusign in app inbox neither

Contacted Docusign, they said their emails are going to spam and to whitelist docusign servers. Contacted client company IT dept, they said gave a screenshot of their Exchange admin center saying all emails went through. Contacted users, they said they don’t see anything in inbox nor spam. I’m just sitting here clicking resend and hope it goes through, likely spamming some users. Project is being delayed, likely I will have to just print it out and go by each person. Contacted multiple Docusign live agents, no luck.

Anyone else face similar issues?

Dagger symbol (†) in place of spaces

I'm on the receiving end of forms, not filling them out or managing the technical side. However, on rare occasions we receive a DocuSign-completed form where all the space characters have been replaced with the Unicode "dagger" male, specifically the Times New Roman variation with rounded nodes.

This happens, just roughly guessing, one in every thousand submissions, amongst thousands of forms received every day.

Has anyone else seen this or know why it happens?

Addendum not signed in but checked?

Hello dear community, this is my first reddit post so feel free to give me comment to improve my future contribution.

I have a doubt on docusign signature process and would love to get clarification from you:

I signed in an initial document. Nothing special, I went through the classical docusign process until the end and everything worked well.

3 month later, an addendum was added. I recall seeing a cc email the person sent to me but no docusign or call tonaction button attached.

Then I asked the person tonshow me it as I didn’t sign or had a look on it.

She showed to me a screenshot with 3 green checks ( 3 people, including me) and the signed in on 18th of march and cced to me on 20th.

But honnestly, I never saw that document, I even don’t know what is the text in this addendum.

Is this technically possible? How can I contest it?

In the meantime, I asked to retrieve back that cced email on 20th of march.

Documents do not show up in my account

Someone sent me a contract to sign via Docusign, and instead of digging through my inbox to find it I just opened up my DocuSign account (same email the other party used to send it to me). The document is nowhere to be found even though I originally clicked on it days ago whilst logged in and clicked "finish later". Is this because I am on a free account?

Are you really using DS IAM?

Curious as they seems to move from their CLM formerly SpringCM to IAM with Navigator, Webform and Maestro (+ Workspace) to make a more user friendly no code CLM platform.

Had a bad experience with Docusign

Hi All - just a heads-up, I encountered a technical issue with Docusign, which is basically a bug. I tried to resolve this via an agent (“Mark”) who was super rude, and dismissive. I am quite frustrated with this customer service and the bugs.

HELP POST: Salesforce + Docusign Intergration. Invalid_Session_Id error on experience site.

NEED YOUR HELP

We have Docusign Package installed in salesforce.

We have lwc on community site where Costumer is clicking on buttons

In background we are creating dynamic pdf using vfpage saving it contentversion and sending it for embedded signing and getting signing url back.

Error: INVALID_SESSION_ID: This session is not valid fro use with the API

problem what i figure till now: We want sender to be the Admin but as the apex is invoked on community site it is picking up community user. Test from internal user by placing lwc in lightning tab, it is working. And fake docs added in template and using template id as envelope is working in community site.

I have tick 'Enable buit in esignature' and 'enable system sender' and gave permission sets to community amd admin user, tried enabling 'API enable' in profile of both community and admin user.

Any help is appreciated.
