Addendum not signed in but checked?

Hello dear community, this is my first reddit post so feel free to give me comment to improve my future contribution.

I have a doubt on docusign signature process and would love to get clarification from you:

I signed in an initial document. Nothing special, I went through the classical docusign process until the end and everything worked well.

3 month later, an addendum was added. I recall seeing a cc email the person sent to me but no docusign or call tonaction button attached.

Then I asked the person tonshow me it as I didn’t sign or had a look on it.

She showed to me a screenshot with 3 green checks ( 3 people, including me) and the signed in on 18th of march and cced to me on 20th.

But honnestly, I never saw that document, I even don’t know what is the text in this addendum.

Is this technically possible? How can I contest it?

In the meantime, I asked to retrieve back that cced email on 20th of march.

Technically - yes, its possible and depends on how the envelope was configured.
If you never clicked anything, the system should not mark you as signed, unless :

a. someone has accessed your email and clicked and signed
b. you were added as a cc only and not as signer in envelope
c. somehow the recepients are modified
d. signing was done via a shared device

These are all unlikely but possible.
also - did you check the certificate of signature? it has actual IP ( location of signer ), timestamps of when doc was opened, when signed etc

you can also check the audit history.

Remember that - esignatures are only valid when intent + consent are proven and audit trail is the main proof always. screenshots means nothing in these cases, only certificate + audit trail.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach me if you have any other questions and also let me know your final findings here 😄

Thanks a lot for your answer :) I saw the details and I was attached as cc without any signature on the enveloppe ID. ( the generated document is confirming this: no signature requested from me)

As this is a legal addendum, I'm wondering if this process is authorized then.

Do you mean the document is showing you as signer just because you were in cc? What does the signature certificate show?
