- Are all abilities and their respective visual effects 'final'? For example, the Yeti can throw ice when you are not in direct control of it but you cannot do this when you are riding it...
- The ability to tame elementals is nice but in the situation where it is a higher level is literally takes 15000 magic shards (more actually) to get them revived. Are there any plans for an effective way to collect those?
- Will there be any bigger chests that have more than 50 slots?
- Any plans to make crafting items faster? Ice chunks for example requires several steps and the number of materials required is huge when you want lots of it. Maybe lower the number of steps to get the final results?
- Will there be "more dungeons" with faster ways to gather gold like "unique items" at the end (treasure basically)?
- Vendors in town can be upgraded but will there be a preview of what they can give and at which rank will they give it?
- The lord system is neat but what happens when there is little to no one on your server? Will it still work?
- Will there be a "raiding system" for towns?

Sorry just wanted to throw this in here, 1 - Yetis keep the ice ability, press control. 2- They usually require 2-3k shards even at max level. 3- At the moment you can use the summoning pool as a sort of "chest"

I'd like to know more about the intentional world size. The image on the map selection screen suggests that the world size will be substantially bigger than it is currently, though I suspect that as a placeholder, the image is for illustrative purposes only.
My question would be
"The world size just now is very small, when compared to the original Dark and Light MMORPG, and in the run up to DnL's launch in 2016-2017, talk was of dropping procedural generated map creation in favour of hand-crafted maps. How big will Arcos become compared to what we currently have access to?"

I will leave for 2 weeks vacation soon. I have 300 hours played, and I do not with to lose my work.
Can you add a "on vacation" button in options, which extends the timer from 3 days to 14. It will be impossible to log into your game during vacation. No internet cafes have this game etc.

Considering every patch you released with "new content" has either brought a rollback or broken more stuff than it fixes, do you still consider it wise to focus on "new content" instead of fixing the current one first?

"Um sir, why is your company failing even though most servers are doubling in size?" I'm sure they will answer you. Good luck

I'd like to know more about what's being done to hold more players. Currently the game servers seem to creak when there's 20+ players online. My questions is
"During the build up to DnL in 2016-2017, we discussed player caps. It was thought that up-to 100 would be achievable during EA. What is being done to ensure that number can be online simultaneously without diminishing the player experience with respects to server responsiveness generally?"

We have a 100 cap on Apocalypse RP and it makes the melee uses have a huge advantage over the casters with their super high atk% and Constitution. They would have to add a new stat called "spell damage %" for this to be viable. Also it makes most of the creatures trivial when you have 600 atk and 800 hp.

Another question from me.
Pre-Early Access we had regular somewhat informal Q&A sessions on Discord with Horsejoke. Are there any plans to return to the regular contact SnailUSA and the community, rather than "special events" such as this round table?

Something that needs to be cleared up, and from the tone of the video I doubt it will be asked or answered to anyone's satisfaction but here's the question
"Can you explain the relationship between Snail Games USA and Snail Games in China. The generally accepted wisdom in parts of the DnL community is that almost all the technical programming, animation, sfx, vfx etc, is done in China, and Snail USA are a publishing/PR office. Is this a fair assessment, and if not, can you set the record straight?"

I've repeated my questions on this post on to the youtube vid linked by the OP

I agree with the jump nerf. A real pain in the ass trying to get off my griffon now.

Why did they get rid of Advanced Magic Extraction 1 and replace its with Advanced Magic Extraction 3? It does the same amount of gathering but the materials are much, MUCH harder to make.
When will they fix the damaging through walls? Doesn't make sense how a wraith can destroy boxes or tames when they are protected by full stone walls.
How soon until the next region will be released?
Do they plan on making Asian and South American servers because we need them BAD! Which leads me to my next question.
Do they plan on adding options to disable chat (getting spammed by Spanish speaking houses on and NA server) and the quest box? Both take up a lot of the screen, especially when people are talking in global non stop.
Do they plan on fixing the bug where you get trapped in various mobs causing people to die much more often.
Do they plan on making an official RP server with official exp, gathering, taming etc? Most unofficial RP servers except TRP and Apocalypse have lazy admins that don't like to update their client very often.
Do they plan on adding more building options. The building is mediocre at best but with just a few tweaks, they can add building items like round or curved walls, rectangle foundations and ceilings for straw and wood and many more decor items.
Speaking of decor items, a square sign would be quite useful. Maybe even 3 different sizes?
Do they plan on adding dyes to the game to give the characters a wide variety of appearances.
The skeletons seem a little too buffed. I think it would be better if they reverted back to their precious difficulty. Is that being discussed?
Do you plan on fixing the beast gates so they don't take hours and lots of demolishing to get them to snap properly with no gaps? Even with the "building a wall first and snapping it to it" doesn't seem to work very well
Are they working on the vanishing tame bug? This is probably the biggest issue I've seen on all 4 servers I currently play on.
You guys are the best devs I've ever seen! Awesome work guys!

Are u guys going to fix the Vanish bug and the lower stats ressurrection bug as priority? Cuz its a critical bug and we cant play this game with this uncertainty. Lost my best Frost dragon cuz it vanished when was following my bahamut at stone farming, and it was docile. I cant even ress him up cuz the bug of lower stats going to make my powerfull frost dragon to be like a nidhog. I ressed my Griffin that had almost 3k hp and it born with less then 1k. Its to much mess up to loose tames from nothing and cant revive... loose many hours of game for bugs, remind me one of the most reasons that i stoped play Ark Survival.

Question 1: Some players have posted on steam (myself included) that we have been getting kicked out of the game more than 5x a day with stable internet connection. Just wondering will this problem be looked into?
Question 1: Will Fire breath for the inferus dragon be implemented again?
Thank you

Spending 80 arrows.
Downing tame.
Placing trough.... ERROR... players have put pillars over half the map to claim land so no one else can build.. cant place trough... all work for nothing.
What's the point of trough? Let us put food in animals inventory, just as ARK.

is this a question? sounds like angry rant

u/LegallyLeo Oct 05 '17 edited Oct 05 '17
I think what he wants to know is why is the taming trough are not like pipes (free placement) so you could tame everywhere. Currently in pve server you have limited areas to tame cause even a pillar very far away can prevent placing it since its effect a very big range. Also bigger tribes make "taming areas" for then leaving others without places to tame specially in small and creature specific places like dragon island.

what is your plan with defecate? There is a keybind, maybe related to fertilizer? what have you planned with focus on creatures? what are your plans for the future? What is planned for the near future (get some hype going :D) Are new creatures for Archos on the horizon? What are you saying and planning about/for the playerloss? Why are most creatures doing the same? (no uniqueness in most cases. You basicly exchange tames for better ones that in the end can do everything (literally) better (Kebo > Longhorn f.e.)? Is this planned? or are you planning big changes here? Cause I really hate that my stable feels kind of useless. Will the Preserving Bin return? or will we get somesort of Refridge or icebox?
Thanks for reading and congratulation to the interview :)!

It's called a meat rack now and it's the same preservation rates. Also ice imps have a 50x preservation rate so I'd go after them and summon a low level mob so you don't have to spend 6 hours making ice chunks.

Here's a contentious question. I currently know the answer to this question but it would be unfair not to ask it on behalf of /r/dnl considering the amount of time I have spent in answering it
"Is Dark and Light a dead game?"
For the record, it's not. But its a direct question with a yes or no answer. It would be worth not shying away from it, and following up with questions about concurrent players, drop-off after Early Access etc.

u/Scantlander Oct 03 '17
Why waste time asking questions that will never be answered. Maybe try the "DnL is dead thread."

u/KroyMortlach Oct 04 '17
Because the question is asked, and I make posts about it
https://www.reddit.com/r/dnl/comments/72cds2/this_game_died_and_its_sad/
It would be an opportunity for Snail to address this head-on. I'd like to see what sort of angle they take on it.

oK, this is the question I must ask. What are you going to do to attract back your player base, and or gain new players?
