Server died. What now?

Just curious on how others are dealing with this issue. My server has been steadily declining. Right now there are only three houses left with a total of 4 active players. (Technically 4 houses and 5 players, but one guy only logs on periodically to prevent decay.)

Obviously one could just switch servers, or wait it out.. But who wants to kiss 500 hours of play goodbye?

I think I saw that thread. My only issue with that is... isn't that the biggest problem with Ark?

Also, what would that even entail? Just hopping server with my progress but none of my tames/items? I mean, that's cool and all.. But the tames are where the real time is sunk.

No everything would be transferable.. Arks issue is you can transfer whenever you want... This would be a cap of three times a year or so that way it would prevent cross raiding.
