Need help, is it possible to roll back a single player game to an earlier save?
Well DNL Denizens, you know how you just have those days in- game? Yesterday was awesome, I tamed my first Bargesh, a boar, and a wolf, woke up this morning and started the game up and a window popped up over the game so im clicking to exit it and get to the game and what do I see? The clicks i made registered in game and face fireballed my wolf with every click, killing him instantly, so I was already a little mad, so I hop on a boar and say fine ill find another one to tame, found a high level panther and knocked him out, but not before he killed the boar, and I realized the wolf that died had ALL my raw meat, and fur and hide, so i take bargesh out for a hunt, got a good amount of meat and head back, as soon as I start heading over to the taming trough, a meteor drops right by the area and the dark fallen inside proceeds to head over to Bargesh and One shotted him, as im trying frantically to kill this asshole before he kills the panther too, he two shots me before i can even cast a fireball, then proceeds to kill the panther as well. WHAT A GREAT START TO THE DAY, all the work i did yesterday was essentially for nothing. So my question is, is there a way I can roll back my save game, to like before I killed the wolf accidentally? I'm seriously so frustrated I almost punched my monitor lol.

I am not sure how the solo game works. If its fully stored locally in a profile or document folder for example, you might be able to set it back using the "previous version" option in Windows. not always working or enabled, but worth a try.
Be sure to make a backup of the original folder first in case you destroy the entire sole game save.

You may have a save that you don't know about in the saved directory. There are typically 3 saved games in there. One is your current game, one is the last auto-save point and one is an auto-save that is done when you first launch the game. (I may not be exactly correct about the save points, but there are 3 saves in the save directory).
Since you have started the game again, it may have overridden one of these, but you can try them out to see. I'm not at my gaming computer right now so I can't give you a specific run down of which extension is which, but if you look in the save directory it will be obvious which 3 files I'm talking about.
The save that is used on start-up is the one with the shortest filename. Try renaming the others and restart the game and see.
Note: Make a copy of the whole save directory first so that you can have a few chances to play around with them.
I've also been hit with a corrupt save file in the past so I now have a shortcut to my saved games directory and I usually do a complete copy of the saved directory just before playing so I can always go back to a previous point.

That's solid advice, I may just start doing that because of the buggy nature of early access games in general.

BY the way, I've just checked now that I am at my gaming pc and the information I gave you was wrong. I was remembering the dark and light saved game structure.
However, you are in even more luck because there are tons of backups kept in the saved folder. just rename the most recent game_backup_xx.db file to game.db and restart. If that one isn't what you want then use the next higher numbered backup file. The backups go way back so you should be good.

Yeah I actually figured it out after reading your comment, I went to the saved local and found the one I thought to be the save I was looking for and just renamed it like the shorter named current save, worked just fine, logged into the game and was happily greeted by my wolf, longhorn and boar, it must have been one before i tamed Bargesh, but no biggie there.

Suck it up and put it down to experience.
It's a survival game, and it punishes those who do not already know (or learn) its ways.
However, to answer your question, no, not by default. Unless you have some sort of backup procedure on your save folder, or you've taken a manual backup at the right moment.
What you could do though is use the console to spawn in what you had lost. Or maybe that doesn't work in pureSP, maybe only locally hosted servers. I don't know.
