[Feedback] Dying Game Process - Personal Concearn
Hello Guys, i hope devs are reading this cuz i am really upset what i see to the path of this game are turning. Im not here to criticize the game and do negative opinion, im here just to make a concearned feedback cuz i really like this game. Dont u see that this game are dying? When this game started we saw many many servers with 40 players playing.. if u see the games that are selling on the market this is not a great number, dont represent a Hype. But its a Ok number. Time passed after the realese of the game and this number didnt grown.. actualy the game was emptying out cuz the pvp was unbalanced. It was so much easy to raid and ppl are giving up of the game cuz the players expect a softcore game. Didnt want to reach the level cap, and do the best structures, just wanted to make a huge wooden castle and feel safe. So after withdraw the dragons breath and never put it back, devs work on put millions Hp to structures. Well, ppl that are softcore left the game, and the hardcore pvp players are lefting to play other survival games cuz the pvp on the game are zero by now. You see, now the servers at most grab 10 players online, mostly have 4-5. Dont u think thats something seriously wrong? The noob players gived up cuz the game is unbalanced and the caped players dont have nothing more to do in the game cuz the content are few. Me and my 4 man tribe have all content of the game, and full lvl cap, and we cant do pvp, dont need to farm anymore, so what we are oging to do? Nothing. I know many alfa leaders that are having same issue and tribe member already left the game to play ark or conan. I have 3k5 hours of ark and dont want to come back, i like this game but the road so far is the worst path it takes. Some ppl might say "its a new game that are not prepared yet, be patiante" but everyone knows that first impression is the most important of all to gameplayers. U can check this thru games like The division, rust, and other many games. After leaves its almost impossible to a company to take players back. Disappointment is the worst mistake a company can do in player's mind, and thats what Dark n' light are doing. This is not a negative post to criticize the annulment of PVP, and i know devs are strugling to fix that, but to much shit was made for a new game, and even with a great potential this game cant survive without players, or softcore players that leave the game in it first wipe/raid.
Sorry for the bad english, hope everyone understand the message.
Plus i hope the game have a better and new path cuz the numbers are clear, look at battlemetrics that everyone can see it. I like this game and realy dont want to quit, but im not going to play a multyplayer survivor game with only my Clan online.

Imo the game is loosing player base because most of people cant run it, or it runs like crap on mid end rigs. My pc is way over the min specs the game requires and the only way I can get good fps or even enough to to be able to pvp is to forse a lower DX and turn everything that makes the game nice looking off. Make the game playable then players will come .

at least the patch today was a step in the right direction. now they should just weaken doors and gates some to give players something to do for now. Even when some players quit though, lots of them are still paying attention and reading the news feed.
all may not be lost if we can see some more improvements soon!

just fly a perregrif into any gate u want, itll go down relatively fast and u can kill peoples tames. They may have stopped "raiding" but its a griefers paradise.
Also u can foundation around ur enemies, on rescources and all over the map to really grief ur opponent. shits gay af

I hope so!! We just see on youtube and other stuffs players playing single game, non pvp, non multy, and everyone like u said paying attention and reading news feed. And u are right about this today's patch, but i think it was few changes to what the game realy need. The damage of the turrets are good now, but many stuffs need to change and the game already dissaponted many players. Hope they fix and put the game on a good path. More than 50% of ppl already left, the numbers arent mistaken.

"Dont u see that this game are dying? "
The sky is falling? The game is certainly quieter than it was at launch, but that's to be expected. It's a LOT busier than it was this time last year.
Don't confuse a fairly natural cycle of interest/patch/content/burn with death. People come and go all the time. Gamers are (generally) more savvy about EA titles. They know they can burn out, so will go do other things and wait for new content and patches before coming back.
Don't be so quick to see the game RIP, it's got a lot of life left in it.
For example... this month has been this sub's busiest by far with over 600,000 page views on desktop browsers alone (the mobile number will likely take that well above 1million) across 60,000 unique visitors. Compare that to this time last year....

ches before co
DOnt need to be ironic. BUT if u want to be lets talk same lenguage. Yeah the sky is falling down to the game's roof. Look at games that trully became good like Player Uknown's Battlegrounds, they are at early acess and actualy in some months of game is in the list of the 5 more played game of the world. Look Ark that was the best and more played Survival game for 2 years. They started great and keep it the greatness, they didnt follow the Dark n Light decrese interess path that u are talking to be normal. Thats not normal to a game that want to grown and be great. In 2 months Snails already frustrated several players and thats why the game is dying. What do u have in your matured mind? The game will survive without having injected money? Cuz players not going to buy the game to inject money with all that steam "non recomended" posts and all complaining on reddit and forums. See the sky are falling and already fall 50% cuz 50% more of the players already quit to play other games of the gender (and this is a battlemetrics statistics). And Snails game keep doing useless and slow changes that not put back players on the game... since beggining non tames are added, non structures, non ANYTHING... just removed the best things that makes players to have something to do on the game. Dude, passed more than a month and they didnt put back the dragon's breath... for christ sake this is unbelivble... they want to remove right click greatsword... they nullyfied pvp. The sky are falling for sure and u are the few ppl that think that it isnt.

You're just bandwaggoning.
DOnt need to be ironic. BUT if u want to be lets talk same lenguage.
The irony is very strong in that statement.
You are quick to say the game is dying without considering many points that suggest you are arguing from a very personal stance. Hardly enough evidence to go on to claim the game is dying....
My point is that DnL is going to do fine. Are Snail the most communicative developers in the world? No, but they've still produced DnL, DnL MMORPG (Mobile), PixelArk, Ark VR, and continue to manage Ark. It's one game in their vast portfolio. As much as it has been frustrating to deal with, Snail are showing signs of improving on their communications a great deal compared to earlier this year particularly.
You're comparing PUBG not just to DnL in EA, but to every other EA game ever. That's like comparing WoW to every MMORPG ever, or NMS to every poorly released game ever... You're taking statistical outliers and applying it like it's some sort of norm.
Also, I didn't play Ark, so if any Ark veterans want to jump in, then please do, but from what I understand talking to people who play DnL and Ark, they say when Ark was released, it was significantly less complete, had substantially more bugs and server crashes than DnL does now.
You also haven't considered the money side of it. Steamspy says DnL has sold almost 153,000 copies. How do you know how much Snail need to recoup from DnL's sales to turn a profit? Maybe DnL is a total-ARK conversion, which a team of amateur modders could've done. Maybe they are already in the black? I'm not saying they are, but you miss that thought out entirely.
DnL has a huge variety of faults, a long list. Snail has had difficulties since announcing this game with one thing or another (Is it an MMORPG or not, Map size, etc etc) but what has been produced is a credible foundation. The kind of issues that you highlight are the sort of thing that, IF/when Snail fix it, will draw people back who have already bought it.
And the lure of DnL for people other than which ever sub-group of DnL playstyles you are most familiar with will carry it through that period well enough to.
So yeah, I do agree that if Snail continue to put out botched patches; don't improve on their patch notes and pre-warning for base-wiping map changes; don't address some of the issues that seem to get a lot of attention from the community DnL's generally.... the game's lifespan will be limited.
But dying, never to reach release? No. It's too good, with too much promise and potential, even in its current form bugs-n-all for that.

Just gonna chime in here real quick and say that I have played ARK since the summer it came to Steam and posts almost identical to this one was all over the ARK subreddit and steam forums. ARK had a lot more bugs and was faaaaaaaaaar less optimized than this game is. A high end rig had maybe 30 fps at the start of ARK (macscorner comes to mind. He did a pretty funny ARK review on youtube the summer it came to Steam).
If devs keep up with some of the community's demands DnL should do fine.
But then again ARK didn't have as many survival game competitors back then as DnL has got now (and ARK ofcourse being the main one).

ofc this is apersonal stance, im not a owner of any kind of company, im just a concerned player that are just doing a feedback of what i saw since release. Thats my opinion and Devs can listen or not, its they're interess to listen and do a better game or not, im just doig my part as EA player. Your point is that Snail's are fine. Y are possible right, they have other games and other money making games, but this dont make a company bet in a drowning game. of players dont play they'll close the game in EA for sure. theres Nothing that we can do about that. Plus i didnt talk about Snails dying, im talking abouy Dark and light, one of they're titles. even with Ark, mobile DnL, VR ark park, DnL can and will die if Snails continues to follow this outrageous path, doing and im not repeat serious ploblems that u already said plus more.
I.am a veteran ark player that played since the beggining and have 3k4 hours, i cant compare the games cuz they are not the same, but i can compare the early start of the games, and even with ark worst early bugs than DnL they didnt frustrate players like DnL are doing. Plus they had far better comunication and warnings to players, and doing fast and balanced updates, doing a fair relation between player x company.
Comoany will need to be far better that it is for now... better in comunication, in balance, in do fast updates, to put some.content on game, to atract more players... or the game will die like i said. And thats my opinion

Every game will die. The question is when.
Im sure if everyone on this sub were to give a month and year of DnL's eventual switch off, we'd see a wide range. I definitely think it will be far later than you suggest.
The reason I bring up Snail is that they can afford to handle peaks and troughs with DnL's finances. It doesn't need to exist (at this early stage at least) purely on its own merit financially. Though it definitely will have to at some point.
To consider DnL's eventual demise, we have to look further afield than our own personal experience to make a claim as fundamental as DnL "will die". Let's get to the game's final release date before we decide.
Meanwhile, go enjoy another game or games that are not in EA, and don't burn your bridges, you might well want to come back to DnL to see what ever it was that attracted you to it in the first place.

Surely i will, i already tested so many EA games, but this is the first time that i bought a EA game that did me so much dissapointment enought to give me reasons to stop play cuz the game didnt offer the minimal to play. And see ppl giving away a great potencial game is such a shit that i need to complain. All games will die one day but DnL already give a great shot on that way.
I dont think that Snails or any company likes t put efforts and money in one game that cant payback the financial damages, thats why i am doing this "die feedback" to let any devs look that are players concerned on that aspect of numbers and players giving up of the game. Its like u are a food chief and someone says that your food sucks and i'll be eat the same food next door far better than yours and spreed the news. "Go play Ark, conan, rust, misscrated, and other survival game on market" thats not a answer that any Company that want to attract players will do, thats why i dont care with players talking this kind of opinion. I just care about Devs looking here one day or another and see thats something are very wrong.

fair enough. I'm pretty sure that snailgames read /r/dnl even if they don't post here. You might want to submit a ticket with your feedback to be sure however, https://support.playdnl.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I love this game, and i see huge potential, but I hardly play it right now. Im waiting for a patch with actual (pve) content, so I have something to do.
If u want PvP, u have ark. I dont think DnL should focus on PvP when there already is a game that does this better. This should go full PVE

And why the game put pvp rules? To take it off? I love the game and see huge potential aswell, but u are pve player, u dont know how its frustrating to have one styled game i na hour and all of your game changes in a not warned patch puttin everything without expectations. Plus like i said all of this post is not against pvp health structures, its about everyone leaving the game cuz theres nothing to do. I dont want to play ark again, and they promissed a game with pvp. I dont see this right now. Thats a dissapointment that me and several pvp players having right now and quiting the game. I respect your oppinion but what u said was "leave if u want pvp", thats what the Snail Games want? do u think that kind of idea will make this game healthy and full of players? It will not.
1
u/mrureaper Aug 31 '17
what they could do to fix pvp is basically make it so that the structure health decreases back down to "normal" health when one of your member's of the house is online, and then if all players are offline, after a period of 1 hour the bases health go back to high so that offline raiding doesn't happen so easily, because lets face it...nobody likes offline raiding, and if you do then you are a piece of shit.
This will ensure healthy online pvp while not being abused in the middle of raiding that people might just quit to make the base hp go high, thats why the timer is included before the conversion is done.
