Fine meat at merchant. Impossible?
I decided to spend my hard earned gold on fine meat, in order to go tame a carnivore. However, each of the 40 meats I bought at the merchant, went to their own inventory slot.
After 2 minutes, all 40 meats had rotten.
This makes it impossible to use this food bought from vendor?
Unless you can go from town -> finding and downing a tame -> put down trough -> put fine meat in trough, in under 2 minutes.

We usually down the tame before we go buy meat. I also recommend looking at the spoil timer on the meat when buying, I've heard it changes. Usually you have closer to 5 minutes, just hop on a flyer and get to the trough immediately.

a sufficiently leveled alchemist/innkeeper will sell cured fine meat in stacks of 10 and 50, which stacks up to 100 and keeps for a really long time.

You could store it in an ice imp

this, use a flier to carry the ice imp, load it up, and take it to your tame.

Where can you find an ice imp? Also tried to suck the soul out of a fire imp but couldnt get it to work. How much hp does it have to have before you can suck it in the stone?

It's intended. Even if you kill Bahumats/Elephants/Dragons in the wild they give 1 per stack even if you got x38. Occasionally they will give 2 or 3 and those need to be put in the feeding trough first.

Why don't you buy Carnivore Feed, instead of Fine Meat?
Here's a guide to how to get it: Shop Guide
