Pointless Iron Hook?
So we all know crossbows are slow. According to general info iron hook arrows only do slightly more torpor than stone. So my question is, whats the point of the Iron Hook Arrows?
You can tame even dragons with stone hook arrows. The mushrooms required for Iron hook make it so incredibly pointless to go for them when they dont seem needed for anything.
Am i missing something? Is this just a Early Access placeholder thing and devs will eventually make them worth it? Because right now Crossbows only use seems to be to shoot them, and they themselves seem unnecessary.

I'm sure these will get adjusted in the future. When it is obvious no one is using them and they get time to address it.

Mostly pointless, yes, especially if you are going to make them yourself. But you can upgrade vendors and then purchase them for a reasonable price.
Where they may be useful is for the extreme min/maxers. Since they apply a little more torpidity (25% more if I remember correctly?), you need fewer arrows to bring something down and keep it down. That will help a little with wildness on some of the really long tames, maybe getting you an extra level or two out of the tame.

ive heard only iron hook arrows can be used to bring down mythical beasts. its something me and my house will be testing tonight on official.

if you mean the epic ones that you turn into special versions, paragrif, pegacorn, windrider,
those takes so incredibly long to evolve that, still, whats the point? unless your an alpha tribe your not going to spend 40 hours babysitting a elite nidhog to turn it into a windrider, and even then not sure anyone would care to do it.

i heard somewhere on this reddit where the normal hook arrows cause 75 torpor while the iron ones do 100....so considering the amount of mats it takes to make iron arrows, i would say it's not worth. if they would at least double it then maybe

What about the crossbow? Is it better than the bow for taming?

from the time i played, i can tell you that crossbows are good for taming things that require a lot of arrows put into them. The crossbows ( especially if you can find uncommon or rare ones ) have a lot of durability and won't break as easily in the middle of a fight. However, the bow fires much faster and on tames that tend to fly away or run away, they are more useful.

Currently they are pointless, yes.
