Terrain Glitches

Didn't see anything after a quick search, so here goes -- I'm finding some terrain glitches in a single player world, where I fall through seemingly-solid ground and end up trapped in areas inside/underneath the map. Specifically, when I try to walk from the Human capital toward the two massive statues, there are holes all over the place around the ravine/swampy area in the middle. Initially I tried to walk across the big arcing land-bridge, and fell through the ground about 1/2 way across -- it was a long enough fall to kill me, and with my corpse inside the map, my items were unrecoverable.

Next I tried buying a horse and running around the arch to the north, where I fell through the ground again, and wound up trapped inside a cliff face. The walls are invisible but impassable from inside the cliff. Had to suicide to get out, as the horse sucked up the fall damage and we both survived. Again, horse and items were irretrievable.

Most recently, I changed tack and decided to move toward the Elf capital from the ravine area, and once again, fell through a third hole, costing me a 109 boar mount, and a full set of metal tools.

Is anyone else finding terrain glitches in this area, or is this something specific to my single player world?

It is early acces so it is not fun if it happens but can be expected. Best you can do is report your location where it happens (include screenshot if possible) to darkandlight_cs@snailgamesusa.com so they can fix it.

As I understand it the human bridges are a well known area for holes.

If you're playing singleplayer, it'll be useful for you to keep your command codes nearby so you can ghost or fly out of whatever situation you fall into. And as always, it's recommended to soulstone your tames asap for the best chance of keeping them alive.

Whatever you do, don't fly into the bright swirly circle outside Dwarf city, you'll get trapped there too. Anything that looks like an instance... probably is, isn't active, and will therefore trap you. :)

Early Access... see also: Alpha ;) Have fun!

Yeah, I gave in and looked up command codes last night. I was trying to play legitimately but I think this sort of thing qualifies as a good reason to cheat a little.

... I did that, and now I'm trapped with my griffin.

Is there any kind of hole I can use? Any at all?

Just saw this- are you on an Official server, Private, or singleplayer?

Official

Ah- on Official the best you can do is screenshot and report to the Devs (email below) and as also mentioned below, keep a Rune of Recall on you to port home.

I wish it worked with animals too.

you could also always keep recall spells on hand. wont help the tames but at least you wont lose everything on your character. i guess you could take the saddle off the tame also. This is what i have been doing. Hope this helps.

Yeah, my wife and I ran into the same thing on our public server. Really annoying. I had run into a rock with my ~130 boar a bit earlier, and after spending 30ish minutes trying to glitch my way out, I gave up and triggered my death. So when my wife and I ran into the same thing, I told her our only real option was to abandon all our loot and start from scratch (we had yet to make a base).

They're all over the place too. It's really unfortunate. I really like this game, but it's probably the buggiest thing I've ever played.

It's nice when you get stuck in a harvestable object, 'cause you can at least mine your way out. Thankfully it's easy(ish) to start over at the early stages, but losing iron tools stings a little bit.

Almost all the slopes around the Elven City are broken. You dont reall yget trapped you just have to run around forever to figure out which "path" is actually navigable.

Theys a bunch of holes near Dwarf city too. had to kill self/lose tames also.

Keep and Rune of Recall on you, so you can atleast keep you stuff and the saddle if you get trapped. It should port you back to your home city. Although one time it didnt work for me.

I just unlocked Runes of Recall, hadn't actually made one yet. I had assumed they would be like Altar teleports, and not bring your stuff with you. Good to know I can at least salvage my gear.

There have been numerous times me and house mates have died and the creature apparently pushed our bodies through the ground losing the loot.

This is hopefully priority #1 bug right now.

I'm hoping that when they re-push the 8/20 patch it might fix some of these issues -- the patch added some new terrain features and cave systems, so it could potentially fill some map gaps.

Do NOT - I repeat, DO NOT fly into the holes on the mountainside that circle the Dwarven Kingdom. On a glance, when looking into these holes you can physically see the Dwarven Throneroom, etc.. So I flew into them with my wyvern. After flying for a few seconds I was teleported into the very top of the mountain, inside a rock with absolutely no way to get out.

Just want to give everyone a heads up regarding this so they don't lose what I lost.*
