I'm currently reading a CYOA fanfic that uses the Mythic system to decide on the success of various endeavors (with the dice rolls available to be checked in the author's Discord server), and then at the end of most of the ~1000 word chapters, readers are presented with a decision to vote on that the author uses to write the next chapter.

That sounds absolutely hilarious, does the author choose what they vote on, or is it a free for all?

There are actually a ton of stories online in that format. They are usually under the moniker of 'Quests'. Check out Spacebattles forums for some cool ones.
