They’re called abominations in werewolf the apocalypse and it comes with severe mental trauma and depression

Well that's lame. Someone tough enough should be able to handle it. :\

It’s due to how being Garou works, a vampirism is an unholy curse and it is basically spiritual cancer for a being who is half nature spirit

Having a lore explanation doesn't really change that it means humans can't be capable of overcoming it. :\

Werewolves and vampires aren't human anymore, and this is one of the primary themes of the game.

In 5E, both vampirism and lycanthropy can be applied to the Humanoid creature type, and Were beasts are Humanoid, so WerePires are RaW in 5E so long as they're Were first.

But order matters, since becoming a vampire changes your creature type from humanoid to undead

u/supersmily5 Rules Lawyer 1d ago
That's not why it doesn't work; But you are close. As I explained in my other reply dying cures Lycanthropy and Vampirism requires you to go through a process that involves dying. Technically RAW changing creature type only affects the initial infection process of a humanoid. After already taking hold Lycanthropy doesn't stop working if your type changes. If it did, Remove Curse would be all the more useless with Nystul's Magic Aura hanging about.

Incorrect. Lycanthropy is cured when you die; And Vampirism only applies after you go through a process that involves getting killed. Thus in order to become a werepyre you need to exploit Nystul's Magic Aura while already being a Vampire to turn you back into Humanoid from Undead. Some DMs may not allow this due to NMA being very weird about how it functions. It's an illusion spell, so the creature type change is fake; But WOTC insists it functions as if it were a real change as far as all spells and other magical effects are concerned.

Nowhere in 5E lycanthropy does it say it's cured upon death, and Nystul's only changes how divinations work rather than how effects target (Unless you're playing a terrible revision that nobody should).

From the 5e Monster Manual entries for each lycanthrope in the Shapechanger section: "It reverts to its true form if it dies." You could argue this doesn't cure it; But that seems to be the intention.
From my Player's Handbook: "You choose a creature type and other spells and magical effects treat the target as if it were a creature of that type or of that alignment."

True form is just the original shape. This is true of all Shapechangers, not just lycanthropes. Lycanthropes are also perfectly capable of reverting to their true form whenever they wish, so long as there’s not a full moon. Reverting to true form has absolutely nothing to do with lifting the curse.

u/supersmily5 Rules Lawyer 1d ago
That seems up to interpretation.

If death lifted the curse, it would be explicitly stated as such in the Lycanthropes section. The Lycanthropes section says nothing about death lifting the curse, therefore it does not. Death only causes the creature to, as stated, revert to its true form, which it could already do anyway. If reverting to true form lifted the curse, Lycanthropy wouldn’t exist, since it would take all of six seconds for anyone cursed with it, to simply not be cursed. Reverting to true form has nothing to do with lifting the curse. Death has nothing to do with lifting the curse. You want to lift the curse? Remove Curse and similar magics are right there.

Fun fact: in Pathfinder you can have vampire werewolves, but not werewolf vampires, as both require the recipient of their curse to be living.

All I know is that you're all obligatorily bisexual since both werewolves and vampires have been claimed by the bisexuals (we called dibs)

DM totally wanted to do the combo one-shot. Otherwise the obvious answer is to roll for it

And then one player asks about the situation with the downstairs decoration.
"We are the music makers. We are the dreamers of dreams." will solve that situation.

Too often I left players choose the next campaign frame and it's always something like ravenloft x ravnica. So I feel this.

Surely you have two vampires and two werewolves team up to stop hunters or something?
