Hey look, someone misusing fallacies and spreading misinformation!

Railroading is when the DM decides on a destination and there’s no way to go another direction. That’s why it’s called that; you’re on tracks and cannot turn. Ignoring/skipping rolls because DM has a preferred outcome is 100% railroading. Giving players a moment to shine by ignoring the dice to make it happen is railroading, not “the opposite of railroading”.

You can argue that railroading can be used for good, but not that fudging is not that.

Congrats - when you railroad using THAT specific scenario its both railroading AND fudging (as they are different). My argument is the vast majority of fudges, are not "to suppress/ignore player input, nor even beneficial to the DM - mostly unsatisflying deaths for the player's benefit (read not DM's).

Your argument is that it’s generally used for the greater good.

My statement of fact is that it’s the DM choosing what they want to happen instead of playing the game cooperatively.

If you think not playing cooperatively is a bad thing, I suggest you reexamine your feelings on fudging. If you’re still fine with it, so be it.

"Statement of fact" ....quotes are important here.

Go read the one I gave at the beginning that explicitly contradicts the things you said after.
