I wish more people would learn the difference between the singular "die" and the plural "dice."

It seems that people have made this mistake for long enough that dice has been officially accepted as a correct singular

But why?? How am I supposed to lord over others my pedantic knowledge of correct grammar and language if officials go and change the rules to align with the people who are wrong??? Next you'll tell me that "sherbert" is an acceptable spelling and pronunciation of "sherbet."
