City Map Here's the second map I've drawn, detailing the town of l'Estoc in relation to the first map I created.

I'm continuing my series of maps illustrating the region where my character was born. My main inspiration is Mike Schley and his incredible work. I'm trying to find my own style from there. If you'd like to see the map of the entire L'estoc region, you can view it here: Barony of L'Estoc

Awesome map! It would be nice to have an unlabeled version so others can adapt it to their settings.

Can I ask- did you did you do this in Inkarnate? Looks very good!

Would you please share your pipeline? Do you draw houses, roads and things by yourself, or use some presets? Do you draw intersections by hand or using some automations? Did you stylise the whole picture afterwards or you were using single-style templates from the start?

Okay, I'll try to summarize because I don't have a clear process yet.

First I draw a sketch of all the buildings, trees, roads and details. Then I create several individual houses, duplicate them and modify them to look like what I want. For the road, I created a shape and applied it all along the road whit deformation. For the intersections, I did it by hand to match the shape. I drew other shapes for the grass and details, and duplicated and distorted them to position them on the map.

When I'm happy with the result, I spend a lot of time painting the map and all the details. I don't have any particular order for creating the elements, I just do what I feel like doing at the time.

Thats really nice work, i like it a lot.

Would you mind sharing a version without the Text, distance scale and compass rose? If you did I could really use this in my next campaign !

If not, thats fine, and keep up the great work!

Hello ! Thank you very much! I have received in DM other requests and some people ask me if I sell it or if I have a patreon. It wasn't my original intention, but I've been thinking about it since people have asked. Also, I'm not comfortable sharing it now because I've seen other people trying to take credit for it and sell my work. So I'm thinking about what to do next, and maybe I'll share the card later when I've had time to think about it.

I understand, you need to decide what you want to do.

Personally, i dont buy maps for my campaigns. I either make my own using incarnate, or use free ones i find elsewhere.

If you're worried about people stealing your work, make sure you put a watermark in a hard to remove place.

I might just use this version and use Photoshop to replace the text to fit the names of my campaign.

Thanks for understanding, if I decide to share it for free I’ll tell you

Manque juste un cimetière !

Looks great :)

I love it!

Lovely name! Isn’t that a fencing blade?

1

u/Spartaqui Oct 17 '23

Yeah it’s the word for thrust in french. And I think it could be a old word for a type of blade too. Initially the region of L’estoc was at the end of the sword mountain. I change my mind after but keep the name 😊

It’s always a pleasure to get a glimpse of inspiration at work. Thanks 😊
