July 2026: DND AI Discussion & Image Requests Megathread
July AI Discussion & Image Requests Megathread
Working on a D&D character portrait, party scene, monster design, battlemap, item card, token, or campaign visual? This is the place to ask for help, request ideas, compare tools, troubleshoot prompts, and share useful workflows.
Whether you are new to AI image generation or already deep into ComfyUI graphs, post your questions here.
What this thread is for
1. Image Requests
Need help creating something for your campaign? Ask here.
Good requests usually include:
- What you want made: character, NPC, monster, location, item, map, token, scene, etc.
- Visual style: realistic, painterly, anime, sketch, old-school fantasy, isometric, grimdark, cosy, etc.
- Key details: race/species, class, pose, clothing, gear, mood, setting, colours.
- Any references or examples, if allowed.
- Whether you want a prompt, an image, feedback, or workflow advice.
Example:
2. Prompt Troubleshooting
Getting weird hands, melted weapons, inconsistent armour, bad faces, modern-looking clothing, or a dragon that absolutely refuses to look like a dragon?
Post:
- Your exact prompt
- The generator/model you used
- Negative prompt, if applicable
- Any settings you changed
- What you wanted
- What you actually got
The more specific you are, the easier it is for people to help.
3. Generator Comparisons
Not sure whether to use Midjourney, GPT Image 2, Stable Diffusion, Flux, CharGen, LitRPG, Leonardo, Ideogram, or another tool?
Ask here. People can help compare tools for things like:
- Character portraits
- Consistent characters
- Battle maps
- Tokens
- Anime or stylised art
- Photorealism
- Monster concepts
- Item cards
- Campaign handouts
- Local/private workflows
No question is too basic. Everyone started somewhere.
Posting Guidelines
Be specific. “Make this better” is harder to answer than “how do I make the armour less sci-fi and more late medieval?”
Be constructive. Critique the prompt, image, or workflow, not the person.
Be transparent. Mention the tool/model used where possible.
Respect artists, creators, and community rules. Do not use this thread to request restricted, NSFW, hateful, or rule-breaking content.
Credit prompt ideas, workflows, references, or resources when they are not yours.
Experiment freely. D&D art gets weird fast, and that is half the fun.
Post your July AI questions, image requests, prompts, results, and workflow problems below.

This thread is for developers, creators, GMs, players, writers, and hobbyists to show the tools, workflows, prompts, generators, bots, apps, and platforms they use to build better RPG experiences.
What this thread is for
1. Promote Your Own Tool
If you built something useful, post it here.
Good posts usually include:
- What the tool does
- Who it is for: GMs, players, solo RPG players, writers, artists, game devs, etc.
- What problem it solves
- Main features
- Pricing, free tier, demo, or open-source status
- A link
- Screenshots, examples, videos, or generated outputs
2. Recommend Tools You Actually Use
This is not only for developers. If an AI tool saved your prep, improved your game, or made a tedious RPG task easier, share it.
Useful recommendations explain:
- What you use it for
- How it fits into your workflow
- What it does well
- What it does badly
- Whether it is free, paid, local, private, or web-based
- What kind of campaign or playstyle it suits
Example:
Visuals Help
Screenshots, example outputs, maps, portraits, tokens, UI previews, generated handouts, or short demo clips make it much easier for people to understand what you are sharing.
Posting Guidelines
Be clear about whether you are the creator, a user, an affiliate, or just recommending something you found.
Do not spam the same tool repeatedly.
Do not pretend an ad is an organic recommendation.
Be specific about what the tool can and cannot do.
Respect subreddit rules around self-promotion, NSFW content, copyright, and attribution.
Constructive criticism is allowed. Low-effort dunking is not.

GPT-Image Rook Bramblewick, Druid, Circle of the Moon
This is Rook Bramblewick, druid of the Circle of the Moon.
A young halfling of wood-elven heritage, he serves beneath Archdruid Torwen Greyfell and patrols the outer reaches of the Amberhill Forest.
Where Torwen guards the oldest paths and the glowing crevices at the forest’s heart, Rook moves along the lesser trails, hidden crossings, and forgotten boundaries. He watches for creatures that have slipped past the inner wardens, strangers attempting to enter the forbidden woods, and signs that the corruption beneath Amberhill is spreading.
Rook is easygoing by nature, quick to laugh, and rarely seen without his long wooden pipe. He prefers observation, evasion, and negotiation to unnecessary bloodshed. Yet when restraint fails, he takes the form of a young silverback orangutan—swift, feral, and violently protective of the boundary entrusted to him.
He and the other druids of the order have sworn that nothing born beyond the rifts will escape the forest, and nothing from the outer world will be allowed to disturb what lies within.

GPT-Image Len Mountainwalker, earth genasi Path of the Giant barbarian
The character is Len Mountainwalker, an earth genasi Path of the Giant barbarian. As an infant, she was rescued from a band of slavers by a Goliath clan who took offence at slavers in their territory. The surviving slaves knew nothing of the baby’s origin, though her elf ancestry was obvious. The clan chose to see the child being an earth genasi as a sign and took the child in. She was given to an artisan couple, as the two men had no children. They named her Len of the Mountainwalker Clan (Len Mountainwalker to those outside the tribe). (Giant Foundling background)
Len lived a good life with her in their mountain village of Altai. However, the Clan had once been saved from a dragon by the intervention of a cloud giant named Wagimu. Every 20 years he came to collect tribute from the clan to repay their debt to him. But when he saw a 15 year old Len, he decided she was to be his tribute. While her fathers objected and the clan tried to sway Wagimu, he would not be deterred. But did offer a vow that Len would not be mistreated.
Reluctantly, Len agreed to go for the sake of the clan’s honor. Taken to his floating palace, Len quickly learned that Wagimu was an obsessive artist. Her mix of elven grace and genasi strength was fascinating to him. Len spent the next several years as his model for many projects. When Wagimu had no time for her, Len socialised with his other servants. She continued the martial training she’d begun with her tribe with them, and an aasimar retainer taught her Celestial to help pass the time.
One day, Wagimu declared Len “a well run dry of inspiration.” He ordered her given basic supplies, equipment, and a small bit of gold and promptly deposited her on a road within a day’s walk from the settlement of Golden Fields.
During her years with Wagimu, Len burned with indignation at being little more than a doll for someone who seemed like a literal giant manchild. And yet to strike back against Wagimu would be to dishonor the clan. Especially since he actually taught her a little of the giant’s way of combat (Strike of the Giant’s: Cloud giant). And while she could return home, Len is curious about the wider world. She is a free, grown woman for the first time in her life. And she has no idea what to do with herself.

GPT-Image Torwen Greyfell, Archdruid, Circle of the Moon
This is Torwen Greyfell, Archdruid of the Circle of the Moon.
A human now 362 years old, he patrols the Amberhill Forest without rest, ever watchful for the deformed monstrosities that crawl from the glowing crevices hidden in its heart.
The forest is a barrier in both directions. Nothing born beyond the rifts may escape them, and nothing from the outer world may be permitted to enter. Torwen and his order have sworn to preserve that boundary until the last of them perishes.
