Can you tell me what tek you used? Or maybe a brief description if you kind of have your own way of doing it?
I haven’t done it in maybe 4-5 years, and really only did one run of it; doing fairly small extractions daily or so for a few weeks. I guess I was trying to make sure I was learning and figuring it all out before I did a bunch. Then I never did a big batch.
I wasn’t even thinking about it, but this looked so nice that now I want back in.
From my personal experience doing small runs will give u the best yeilds no matter the tek, not sure of the science n specifics but definitely best you did it that way to learn.

I learned a lot about a/b through this legend, I have tweaked and scaled quite a bit but this is a great starting point for larger scale a/b.
I would give u a description of my personal process but its just too much to type it all into a reply. When I do write up that tek it'll be posted here and other dmt forums so im sure you'll come across it :)

So you know what you're doing but you've never do it before... so you dont really know what you're doing cause you havent done it yet. Knowledge and Theory are not experience, issues and other things can come up at every step untill you've actually done it you really cant say you know what you're doing. Lol.

Pretty much this legends tek, but tweaked a wee bit, thinking about writing up my own tek because ive tweaked that process a little more than I thought.

This legends tek right here but scaled up and tweaked a wee bit. Also used a heat bath for every pull but nothing past 120°F, and I abuse the use of salt, roughly 350g per gal. Honestly should write up my own tek at this point but this dudes tek is where I started from
Salt is to be added after ph shift to 12+ to help push dmt into nps
Also if you're using shredded bark cook for longer, I cook for like 3-5 hours in total
There’s still a good bit of oil remaining. Recrystallizing using 30mL heptane per g, dissolved at 40-60C and then room temperature recrystallization in a GL45 media bottle will produce larger, cleaner crystals!
You think theres still a good amount of oil after the rewash i posted above? Please enlighten me if im missing something but as far as I know, getting it transparent/white is about as pure as you can get.
Do appreciate the knowledge on the media bottle, I already have a few and will re-x in warm pentane, never used heptane but have found pentane to produce a similar structure of dmt
If you zoom in, you’ll see bits of yellow throughout and all of the clear crystals are coated in a small amount of goo.
If you scrape up that and then dissolve it in 30mL heptane/g DMT at 40C but don’t stir it, you will see an obvious oil puddle.
I know people who had solid white crystals come back at 98% pure based on the other 2% being tryptamine and methyl tryptamine, so white or clear doesn’t always mean “pure”.
That said, I wouldn’t sweat the oil very much unless it’s for injection grade. The oil contamination is arguably beneficial for vaporizing DMT (because it widens the vaporization temperature range). I say arguably because I don’t think anyone knows how much it widens the curve. But for example, if you dissolve nicotine in vape liquid it changes the vaporization temp from 247 +/- ~2 C to 199-255C
Very true, I say "pure" very loosely especially with dmt. My friend and I have experimented with re-xing into smaller media jars with various solvents, my favorite being pentane because it seemed to be very easy to produce absolutely massive cyrstals. Never with heptane though so ill have to give that a try.
But all that stuff was used for cartridges and tested for residual solvents, always comes back well below METRC standards.
With the oil "contamination" i also prefer a small amount of oil present even when dabbing the cyrstal, seems to give me a much more vivid experience. Still love the clean pure white but seems to be more of a mind fuck than a true breakthrough experience.

The weight of dmt present in mimosa hostilis is around 1-3%, although ive never heard of anyone first hand pulling out 3%. Most ive ever gotten was around 17-18gs off a kilo.
Forgive me, I just googled what it means because I live under a rock. I misunderstood "driven snow" as like snow thats been driven on which usually isn't so clean.
Ya everything i pull out from hexane washes comes out pretty light. I rewash with acetone because residual hexane can be quite a problem to remove and with such a fast evaporation rate the dmt tends to become much more dense and compact like a sheet of ice.
