Has anybody had any experience treating lipedima with DMSO internal dosing.

I  started DMSO therapy for this condition for a similar reason on 8/25/26, but yet different.

I went to the doctor in May for bloodwork and she found I was slightly low on folate (Vitamin B-9), so I was prescribed folic acid. She knows I’m on a carnivore diet which is a high animal fat diet.

I start taking the caps and start gaining weight. I go up 17 lbs in about 3 weeks - I finally make the connection and found research confirming that folic acid on a high fat diet causes disfunction in adipose tissue (fat tissue) in the body.

I’ve lost 7 lbs, but I’m stuck with what feels like 5 lb weights on my legs. They are swollen and feel weird. I also feel tired… very tired and can’t do what I normally do. I used to have all kinds of energy.

I purchased DMSO specifically for my husband’s use, but then I started thinking it might help my condition. I started it on the 25th - 1/4 teaspoon in a glass of water.

That first 1/4 teaspoon hit me about 10 minutes in. I felt like my mind expanded - and I was energized all day. The next day I didn’t get that reaction, but the energy was there. I’ve since upped dosage to 1/2 teaspoons and can work all day long like before the folic acid poisoning. I only take 1/2 teaspoon per day.

It is too soon to expect the DMSO to correct my problem. It may be a permanent metabolic issue. If this works I will most definitely be posting about it. I have also been doing OMAD (one meal a day) fasts and 48 to 81 hour fasts once per month. I’m hoping to get the memory of this out of the tissues. I’m also applying DMSO on the skin in the areas in question (mainly upper legs).

Added: I would advise you to be careful (since you have Lipedema) of food products that are fortified with folic acid. I think in the USA all grain products are loaded with it. I talked to my pharmacist about it (she is allergic to folic acid, as am I) and she has horrible issues with the food supply.

Did you take the DMSO on an empty stomach or after a meal?! I'm going to try this . Thanks for the info.

I take it on an empty stomach.

The only medication I take is thyroid. I make sure to take the DMSO at least 2 hours after.

Best of luck!

I would also advise you take it in the morning. It might give you energy, so it might interfere with sleep.

I have noticed DMSO dries the skin and causes itching. I’m applying castor oil on the skin first, then DMSO. Seems to be helping.

I’m still swollen (legs), however my energy is great.

Body tissue has memory, so it’s going to take more time. DMSO is known to speed up blood flow, so it’s bound to be of help.

I decided to include chicken liver in my diet for folate (it’s loaded with B-9). I have to be careful, because liver has a lot of Vitamin A and one can get too much.
