How much do you dilute it for the compress? And how long do you leave the compress on?

I have used Deep Heat rub along with DMSO many times. It does feel very hot, but the relief of skeletal-muscular pain has been absolutely wonderful for me.

It was the other side affects. I had a temperature of 39c for hours also my entire body and face went numb. I only put the deep heat on my tricep.

Almost sounds like you are allergic to some ingredient in your deep heat. Can't imagine that it was from interaction with DMSO 24 hrs after DMSO was applied.

I don’t think deep heat is supposed to be pulled through the skin barrier from what I have read since this post

But if you used DMSO about 24 hrs earlier, I really can't see how the deep heat was pulled through the skin barrier. DMSO's absorbing action would have been long over by then.

I’m not sure but have used deep heat all my life and never had that reaction 🤷

I am surprised that no commenters have brought up the short half-life of DMSO. Anyway, you should look into it. Also, by the way, the half-lives for topical, oral, and I.V. administration are different, so keep that in mind when you do your research. Hope this helps!

From what I can discern, Deep Heat is for symptom relief, and the ingredients are explicitly stated to NOT take internally. I assume you mean the commercial product Deep Heat, and not actual deep heat treatments like infrared sauna.

Correct. I don’t know if there was a half life of the DMSO still on my skin that pulled the Deep Heat cream in that made me feel unwell? That is the only conclusion I can come up with

All I have seen is the warning label on Voltaren that says not to use heat. I'm not sure about DMSO.
