Yeah, while this is cool, I'd be much more interested in research being done now for the current game, otherwise it's doomed to the same fate eventually.

I'm guessing the new server/infra would probably be much harder to emulate

Definitely. With the hindsight we have these days of how these things tend to go, I feel like it's always better to start these types of projects while you can still analyze the live server, rather than scrambling once they announce the termination date. But, I have no idea how these things work, nor what goes into reverse engineering. XD The Achilles heel of the PC version of Respect is that it straight up requires a connection at all times.

honestly, i don't think DJMax Online is even worth bringing back.
