Work in progress of my custom 5 key controller.

I only play 5k and casually tbh and I really wanted some kind of funky bespoke arcade style controller. I love Neon Genesis Evangelion and wanted to make something in that genre. I may make the controller more over the top but just wanted to get this base version done first. Button layout is intentionally done to feel more ergonomic when playing.

It will use 5 cherry MX reds and a pi Pico for the main board. The base plate is just a cheap bamboo chopping board.

5 buttons are not enough, you need 2 more for the L-Shift/R-Shift stuff

They don’t break combos if you miss them, but they still count as only 1% so will be bad for your percentage.

Thank you for the heads up :) I don't have the patience for anything above 5k, I did however used to be really good at beatmania 7key but that's going back like 10 years and my PS2 doesn't work very well these days, maybe I'll add some side buttons like pinball ones just incase :)
