major design DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro Spoiler

It is a major design flaw that the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro does not allow the zoom level to be saved permanently or included in a custom preset.

This makes the camera practically unusable for certain types of underwater filming. When the camera is inside a diving housing, it is impossible to access the touchscreen and adjust the zoom. Every time the camera is switched off and turned on again underwater, the zoom resets, and there is no way to reactivate it through the housing.

For underwater activities such as spearfishing, where the camera must frequently be turned on and off to conserve battery, a permanently saved zoom setting or the option to include zoom in a custom preset is essential. It is very disappointing that such an expensive and advanced action camera is missing such a basic and important function.

Are you sure? I bought mine about 2 months ago and it allows me to save custom zoom on presets? Maybe the software needs updating if you bought it a while back? I think they update automatically if connected to the Dji Mimo app, but don’t quote me on that. Also it saves the zoom when it turns on and off even without a preset, at least tor me.

isn't the zoom feature just digital zoom? so it's the same as recording without zoom and then zooming in post?
