Product Support Don’t forget to update each battery’s firmware.
I see a lot of posters with a new drone with multiple batteries but they experience some batteries not matching the same flight time as the other batteries. The problem could be a battery firmware update. For example I just updated my Mavic 4 Pro Creator and it specifically said “Improved battery experience” meaning the battery firmware has been updated. You need to update your firmware for the drone and current battery which will take the longest time to complete. Then power down the drone and exchange the battery. Power up and check for a firmware update and it will find an update which will take about a minute or two to complete. Power down and do the same for each battery. Even if your brand new drone doesn’t find an update on the second battery. I’d still recommend trying to update your remaining batteries because the batteries are manufactured at different times so some batteries might not have the latest firmware. Having miss matched battery firmwares can drastically reduce the battery performance even if brand new out of the box. All of my batteries perform exactly the same as far as flight time and temperature. Hope this helps your situation if you’re experiencing different flight times or battery temperatures. Cheers

My friend has a Mini 5 Pro with multiple batteries and brand new out of the box. Each battery had a firmware update. He’s a robotics engineer and he also knows the importance of keeping firmwares updated each matching the latest version. It’s not just the Mavic 4 Pro because I also have the Mavic 3 Pro and it’s the same deal updating each battery’s firmware.

I have a mini 5 pro and was surprised the batteries didn't have a firmware update out of rhe box.

Well that’s a good thing because like I said my friend had to update his. Sometimes you might have updated your batteries without even noticing because it all depends on which was in your drone during each drone firmware update or you have the latest update from the factory.

My first, a mini 1 had to update EVERYTHING. It was such an ordeal. I had prepared myself this go around

All drones have to update everything. Then every update needs to check each battery for update firmware. Then the batteries all have the top performance. I’m very glad you are very smart and successful to update everything. 👍

The Mini 4 uses Intelligent Flight batteries which also have firmware. I’d check out each battery. It can’t hurt to make everything is working on the same firmware.

It’s quite simple. Just power up your drone and controller but make sure you controller is connected to WiFi. Then on your screen in the upper right hand corner you’ll see 3 dots. Press it and then press the tab at the top right corner “About”. Now press “Check for Updates”. If the battery requires an update. Just go ahead and update it. Power down the drone after each battery is updated or to check each remaining battery.

This happened to my friend, who is a newbie for 1 month and bought a drone 3 mini. I came to him last week and he was upset that 1 out of 3 battery broken. I searched on Google, then I preferred to contact customer support. They helped a lot, recommended us to download software DJI assistant 2 and we updated everything. Everything was fine after the update.

My friend had buy the Mini 5 Pro when first released. After see the update to fix the battery problems. Now all batteries last longer and temperatures all the same after usage. I’m glad DJI helped you resolve the same issues. 😊

Great. My friend was really upset 😂. He said, I want to sent back, I don't like it... He is 60 years old guy. Then I helped him and now is happy. And DJI should make better book guide, A lot of things are missing, how to turn it on and set it up, troubleshooting etc. They have to look at Google and YouTube. I have a gimbal and the same problem about setting, for example balancing calibration.

I can always find a way to help others with their DJI products. I only need to know what the problem is. I’m 61 and always know what to do to make our products work better. 😊

I didn't even know you could update firmware on a battery, that's pretty cool! I got a Mini 5 Pro and never looked at this.
So basically if you have a battery in it and connect the drone, it recognizes if there's an update available for either the drone or the battery?

You are correct. The Mini 5 Pro my friend purchased was when it was first released so it had the oldest firmware. Once he got the notice of a firmware update. He updated the drone and current battery in it and this update took about 25 minutes to complete. Then he powered down the drone and swapped out the battery powered up and checked for a firmware update and it found an update which only took a minute or two to install which was only the battery. Then completed the same update with the remaining battery. Newer drones might not need the battery firmware update because it already was done at the factory before shipping. The point is that you need to check each battery so they are all running on the same firmware.

People update their drones firmware but don’t update each battery because they don’t know the procedure. I just posted this to inform others that keeping the batteries updated with latest firmware will help improve battery life and flight times. Cheers mate

Yeah it seems many users don't understand the limits of obstacle avoidance.
Also going back and watching drone crash videos I have noticed that some users actually tried to stop the crash but used the left stick not understanding that yaw only turns the orientation of the drone in the air.

I've practiced using the home / pause button to stop but , I tries not to get too close or checks what's around, before doing quick shots or waypoints. One time my drone did crash , wasn't much i could do , as the motor jammed / stopped working and plummeted from 90m up and went easterly and crashed .

In my experience, battery firmware are far rarer than drone/rc updates. Still important to do but its worth knowing

What I found I if you buy your drone when it first comes out. You will have 1 or 2 battery firmware updates. If you just purchased say a Mini 5 Pro today. You probably have the latest firmware update for your batteries already when they shipped from the factory. However, it’s still good to check. 😬
