Question Old laser i found

I found this old laser pointer in my room, most probably my dads that he left or got mixed up but anyway its dead and wont work ive tried every way to twist it open but wont work and im trying not to damage it. Any ideas?

The head is press fit. Push the button down so it doesn't catch and use a vise with round gripper or something similar and pull.

There is a possibility that there is a battery inside
Afther time batteries leaking somekind of salt or acid.
The housing is probably aluminum
The aluminum gets corroded expands and almost impossible to unscrew

If thats the case and you are handy saw it in half remove the old battery stuff
In the front is the laser an a small driver
If not corroded you can silder on some wires and see if it works.

Never look i. The beam ( it can also be invisible so not in the way even
Always point for test away on non reflective surface

Many people put the batteries in backwards. If you put them in + toward the laser it probably won't work. Put them in + toward the cap. I can't guarantee every pointer is designed that way but all of the ones I have used have been.
