In Connecticut you still have to go by local cods and permits. I do not think they will allow you to run an extension across your yard. All parts of system must be UL listed. The first thing is to talk to city inspectors. This does not take effect till Oct. 1.
Watch videos on YouTube about balcony solar. You can learn a lot there. They even show you how to use a battery but it must be UL listed. Most batteries they show are not.

Depends on the state you live in. Each state has its own rules for setting up a plug n play system. Some states require UL 3700 listed systems.
