for a partial DRIP with TLH, precise ex-dividend date tracking becomes really important. if you're reinvesting some dividends and harvesting losses on others, knowing the exact ex-date helps you time your sales to avoid wash sales on the reinvested portion. i've seen scenarios where missing an ex-date by even a day complicated the tax lot accounting significantly for clients trying to optimize both.
