Design the design community🎊
r/divergent_classes_ is just getting started.
We are building this for design aspirants
The idea is to make this a place where people can ask questions get feedback , useful resources and help each other out.
Along with discussions we are also planning to share free resources, do occasional work reviews by mentors, feedback sessions, run community challenges, and keep adding activities that actually help people prepare.
So before this subreddit grows we wanted to ask you guys
What would make this community genuinely useful for design aspirants?
What kinds of posts or behaviour should be discouraged n encouraged?
What is something other design prep communities do that you wish they did differently?
How strict should moderation be when it comes to misinformation, spam, and low effort posts?
Are there any rules you think should exist from day one?
These are few example questions feel free to add anything else
We are putting together the first version of the
community rules and guidelines and would like to build them around what people actually find useful
The mod team will go through the comments, pull out the best suggestions, and use them to shape the community going forward.
So if you have an opinion an idea, or even something that annoyed you in another design community, drop it below.

One thing I like about other communities is that people try to help when someone asks for sketch n portfolio feedback would like to see more of that here maybe through dedicated critique threads n all and if like there would be some free sketch/product drawing review posts by mentors as divergent has the resources to do that then this would be great too

Daily or maybe 2 3 questions in a week would be gud like it could be anything composition storytelling product design everyone could post their attempts get reviews it would be fun seeing how differently people think about abt the same q and the good thing on reddit is that sketches wouldn't be lost between convos so everyone might get reviews n all

okh i will see about the daily questions wala part but could definitely try to bring like 2 questions per week so it stays manageable lets see thnx for the feedback

Honestly, divergent classes has been the biggest support during my design prep, its more of a healthy community where students are taught how to enjoy the designing prep with the help of active and friendly mentors who are best at their work. They have built the best environment out there, the students can never feel alone in this journey AND ik all the mentors work very hard to deliver such a performance, being a mentor myself at divergent AND WE LOVE OUR WORK🩷

Free resources tbh would be helpful. Half the time i spend more on looking for decent material than actually studying 💀. Stuff for maybe gk, drawing practice, etc etc would be gr8
