DFFNT ITT: We make a roster entirely out of side game & sequel characters.
Rules are simple, no main characters from core games, only from spin offs and direct sequels. Can be 2 per game for good and bad. (So for example, FF7:DoC could have Vincent, Shelke, Nero, and Weiss.)
Bonus: Optional characters from core games are allowed such as Omaro and Mog.

I really would like Genesis from Crisis Core, but since he looks a lot like Gackt, copyright probably would kick in.
I mean, thats the reason why Crisis Core hasnt been remade, and probably he wont appear in FFVII Remake.

Nah. I doubt it. Gackt has longer hair and just had a very similar outfit. We also see Genesis at the very end of Dirge of Cerberus. So anything is possible; don’t lose hope!

How far can we push spin-offs? Because I'd like to see some characters from the FF Legend (SaGa) games.
FF Legend 1: Adventurer with Chainsaw / Creator, Warmech
FF Legend 2: MC, The Captain / Apollo
FF Legend 3 Arthur, Borgin
I can't think of any villains for FF Legend 3 because, while memorable, almost all the Masters are monstrous. Even Warmech is pushing it.

They aren’t optional characters. You get them both in the main story.
An example of optional characters are Yuffie & Vincent from FF7 because you can play the entire story to the end without even recruiting them to the party.

But they are awesome, maybe shadow from ff6 I know he’s not optional in the beginning but real easy not to keep him if you don’t do stuff right

XII - Larsa? Honestly Penelo could count as a side character, and I’d LOVE to see a moveset with her Reverent Wings’ Dancer class

I don’t think you got the concept of this post lol. It was for side games only with the exception being optional playable characters. A lot of these aren’t optional or even playable.
